In any case, the customization number we should be looking at is 9049 or 6921, not the RxE.

My XS just died... can't charge, can't switch on.

The Sony service centre page here Service Centres : Access Service Information : Sony Singapore state that the one at Wisma is not for Sony Ericsson product.

So, any idea where should I send it to for servicing?

Yes, at Bishan J8. Went there a few months ago to replace the cracked arc case under warranty. Before you go, its better to call up & ask for service period. Otherwise, you go there to ask & they will tell you standard 3 days for servicing.

its a patch just below the unlock slider. on white background, it appears yellow. on dark grey background, it appears as a faint white patch.

mine at first got nothing, 2days later i noticed the light yellow patch, the patch is becoming darker yellow over the days..

...now less than 2 weeks, and i can say, it's now like lightish brown..

What does these numbers mean?

If I understand correctly, the first eight numbers will help to identify the country and brand (ie telco-brand or generic) of the set. The last 3 (Rxx), I'm not sure. But basically, each country / telco would release different versions of the same firmware and customize it by adding / removing certain apps. Thus, the customization version number is a form of identification of the firmware that was released by the particular telco / country. So logically, M1, Singtel and Starhub sets should have different customization version numbers, since they pack their own apps in the sets.

New Firmware 6.0.A.3.73 rolling out - xda-developers

Hopefully for Singapore, it'll rolled out to non-Singtel sets soon.

Edit: Speak of the devil, I just connected my phone to my PC and it's prompting me to update to .73.
