I suspect the units on qoo10 and other 3rd party online are selling the cheaper china units and flashing them to international firmware.

no problems with that except you will not get the bands that are offered in sg, especially by singtel.

True in a sense, however, i got no problem getting LTE bands when i'm on Sinktel.

HK set is A3003. Bought one from oneplus hk online store!!!!

if u bought direct, then could be A3003. Qoo10 maybe is from china den ship to HK den HK ship back to SG.

According to the spec, all the same (https://oneplus.net/hk/3/specs).
The diff is :

North America model
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/4/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/2/4/5/7/12/17/30
CDMA EVDO: BC0

Europe / Asia model
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/5/8
FDD-LTE: Bands 1/3/5/7/8/20
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/40

China model
WCDMA: Bands 1/2/5/8
FDD-LTE : Bands 1/3/7
TDD-LTE: Bands 38/39/40/41
TD-SCDMA : Bands 34/39
CDMA EVDO: BC0

For Singapore, M1 and StarHub should be OK, only Singtel - LTE Band 8(900) not supported.

thanks for confirming, haliotis81.

can share who you shipped with and how much?

I want to ship to sg by using borderlinx. This was not possible due to they cannot ship products with battery in it. Heng! My brother going hk for holiday. My brother escort my VIP phone back!!! 😁

I was similarly concerned with borderlinx on shipping embedded lithium batteries and checked with them on this matter. this is their reply and it seemed ok to ship one normal smartphone.

Thank you for contacting Borderlinx!

Lithium-ion batteries with equipment can be shipped as long as the battery is under 100 Watt hours (WH) and packaged with equipment (same box, inside of another box).

Example:
Ø Laptop with battery outside of laptop CAN ship as long as battery is under 100 WH and packaged with equipment (same box, inside of another box)

Ø Camera & camera battery CAN ship.

Ø iPhone, iPad, Kindle, Nook, etc with battery CAN ship.

· Per NEW regulations only 1 battery per shipment with equipment.

· Must be sent in box, no longer shipped inside of padded pouch or poly bag.

If we could be of any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Best Regards,
Rahul

Sorry did not explain clearly. Singtel has 3 LTE bands 3/7/8, so though OP3 China model does not support Band 8, but the other 2 bands are OK.

Anyone mind advising what the lack of band 8 means?
Does it only mean that 4G may be slightly slower?
And affect calls sometimes?

I use wifi mostly, so I guess it won't affect me much?

Thanks in advance

As I understand, LTE Band 8 only Singtel is supporting, M1 and Starhub not affected. Not sure whether LTE will be slower if no band 8.
