Yeah. I thought they really pushed the boundaries or what for the cam. End up compromise also like OP3T. The thing is, the results are still quite good. Despite the smaller sensor than most flagship phone, the smaller pixel size, and no OIS. OnePlus image processing actually I think is better than even some more established brand. Like that HDR processing actually looks quite impressive.
But end up it's like when they improve one area (add another camera), they cut back on another area in order to cut cost. If they added OIS, maybe the lowlight and video stabilisation will improve also already. Or go for smaller megapixel and higher pixel size a little, rather than the bragging rights for "highest resolution" dual camera setup.
It's a shame because I think it has so much potential. But anyway, the camera still looks really good according to reviews. I don't think most people will find it bad. Haha. Just that the camera was the thing that Carl Pei was hyping up so much, maybe even to the point of being the reason the price of the phone went up. Haha.
Still thinking on whether to pull the trigger or not.... hahaha.
Well said Alex, your wot rant was spot on !!! Didn't realise the cam was almost the same as the 3t though. They hyped so much abt the cam and working with dxo but the most telling thing is, there was No DXO score at all, lol
