Ok I break it down for you, I watched almost all the video reviews and written reviews alr. I'm also on iOS, iphone 7+.

The screen of the OnePlus 5 is 1080p pentile, which is bad. The camera which they hyped so much about is hit or miss experience, the bokeh effect is only good when it works. I can go on and on but you roughly know too much I don't go for it. Camera in the ip7+ is still stellar, can't possibly downgrade to a worse camera.

My suggestion is buy this phone without trading in your existing iOS phone. Use for about a month or so. See if you can get used to it then decide whether to sell either phone to recoup.

I made the mistake of selling my 7+ to get s8 but end up very disappointed with s8. Sold at a loss and still need to top up.

I think OP5 will be more or less the same. Less the custom rom and root features.

no idea why they stuck to 1080p instead of upgrading to 1440p, should have been possible. but explains a comparable SOT against 3T.

camera hype but failed to deliver.

seem to have 5g wifi probs in isolated cases.

only feature(s) is fingerprint scanner fastest and good 1080p EIS video recording. although their colour reproduction's great but it's subjective for color scales.

and of course, still OKish pricepoint considering un-subsidised vs the other flags

Maybe you can consider HTC U11 if you are looking for a fast and responsive phone with arguably the best camera now in the market. The boom sound is also a plus. Only down side is no 3.5mm phone jack but you won't be missing much since ip7 also doesn't hv that. The phone comes with 6gb ram 128gb rom for our market.

It will not be as feature rich as Samsung but S8 has got the best hardware, it's just their software still has lag that some are not comfortable with. For someone that wants features but don't mind abt slight lag here and there or is good at tweaking, it's probably the best phone right now with great camera too so it's up to u.

I feel that op5 have received too much flak here. people have been picking the nitty gritty stuff and firing it at op5.

a lot of people here forgot about how great the op3/3T is and op has successfully carried them over to the op5.

For someone like me who goes to meetings often, the ability to switch sound profiles by just reaching into your pocket is amazing. Having used the oneplus3 and the rocker switch, there is no longer any pull factor from the other brands when they do not feature the same rocker switch.

I feel that the features they have jammed into this phone is more than what common folk like you and me can use on a daily basis.

Yes U11 is the squeeze phone..

Ok if you just want a fast phone, OP3T is fast and has the dedicated rocker switch. There are many fast phones around to be honest. The previous generation sd821 phones are fast and cheaper too.. you can also ook at Xiaomi as the phones are quite bang for bucks also

Well if you priced yourself so close to flagship price, you bound to get these comparison. OP5 doesnt look like a good value proposition.

Minus of MIUI, the mi6 looks good especially for people who doesn't like big phones.

Priced closely is the G6 as well.

For OP5..if compared to LG G6..to me G6 is a better buy..in terms of feature ( IP68, can put ext SD card, also duo camera, 2 years local warranty but only 4GB and SD821 processor...)..

However ,OP5 will be future proof( at least 2 years) with 6GB ram...

Am not a LG fan but it's more value for $ as compared to OP5 as it's only $670/$680 at shops...

Precisely, we are not nit picking, we just comparing value proposition here. If the OP5 were priced at say $600 or lower, we won't be having such conversations.
