The problem is the MIUI lol, you either love it or hate it

i think its alright. it has some nice features like dual apps, second space, private apps and messages locking. its snappy and has really good battery life due to its permission and optimizations management. it has wide range of devices to support across the board so even older devices also gets updated
its not perfect for sure, eg google smart lock not working for years.. Some stock android N features still missing probably until the release of miui 9 but overall its still a nice enhancement over android

I'm a Oneplus 3T user. I will skip this phone.
Why?
Price overpriced
Camera above average - what happen to partnering with DXOmark??
Has been talking about how good is the camera created...
(Can say is better than mi 6 but not as good as G6 or S8)
NO OIS.
No qHD display.
Overall feel not much different with oneplus 3T.

I'm thinking of switching to s8+ from ip7+, care to share why you disappointed with s8? Thanks!

Let’s not discuss about Apple eco system and just compare phone to phone.

I had small lags which ends up to be the defining moment of me selling the phone.

I use Telegram a lot for messages and a normal message such as “what are you doing” can lag. I will press finish the message but the words don’t appear until a few seconds later.

There are some Apps such as Instagram and Uber where the keyboard will cover the text area. I can’t actually see what I type.

Other issues such as difficult to find screen protector also plays a part.

Lastly, the warranty is very troublesome. I bought my phone sealed and non activated at Kasia mobile. I thought I can just pop into Samsung store to buy their extended warranty. Their version of AppleCare. But I found out that it is not possible. Only phones purchased from like authorised dealers and with their receipt am I able to get the warranty.

For AppleCare, I bought my i7 recently on Carousell sealed and non activated. I can go to Apple website to check serial number before purchasing and then within 60 days, pop by Apple Store or online to get my AppleCare.

All these issues might be nothing but to me, it is defining since I paid a lot of money for a phone.

My OP5 6GB/64GB just delivered from HK. Paid ~$580 inclusive of shipping to borderlinx and after cc rebates. Just a short review. Feels really good in the hand! Fresh out of the box already got Oxygen OS update to 4.5.2 I believe this was rolled out yesterday worldwide. Tested with both 2.4 & 5 GHz WiFi so far so good no issues. In short pretty satisfied with the phone. Glad that this phone came in time for my trip to Bkk. :D

Samsung's TouchWiz has been known to be clunky by the Android purist community.

Coupled with all the duplicated Samsung apps makes the phone full of bloat.

That's why we people go for oneplus.

Too bad Motorola isn't serious abt Singapore market.
