thanks experienced bros for all the help.

may I know what are the recommended brands that we can start from? like suitable for entry level guys. Too many brands and options le... blur...

Adidas. Some will laugh but they actually have some pretty decent frags.Or go for those like Boss Red or Burberry Brit Rhythm, the mass marketed stuffs-heavily advertised ones or get the swiss-army knife ones like YSL L'homme.

Why?Because they were made to please the crowd. So it's safer to try them out and then gauge if you wanna go deeper into the frag game or not.

You can checkout Perfumes and Colognes Magazine, Perfume Reviews and Online Community—Fragrantica.com for reviews.
You can't go wrong with the popular ones because I like to believe they are popular for some reasons. But downside is you may end up smelling like everyone else on the street. Not a big issue for me because locally, I don't know many people using cologne in college on a regular basis.

Another way is to ask for recommendation on forum, but first you gotta identify the purpose of cologne (work, club, formality, day, night...etc etc), your budget and some of your preference notes. Just remember one man's poison is another man's meat.

For testing, avoid testing too many colognes at one go due to olfactory fatigue. So just short list a few before heading to the counter to test. Don't write off any fragrance till you wait for the mid notes to develop (this can be as long as 30min to an hour)

Try the standard Imperial Millesime or Green Irish Tweed.

Their cheaper cousins are sean john unforgivable and coty's aspen respectively.

Good recommendation. Unforgivable is a good frag in itself. Another Millesime Imperial alike that I like is Ed Hardy Love and Luck. The other GIT alike is of course Davidoff Cool Water.

Other Creed frags that are worth trying are Himalaya and their best seller the smoky Aventus.

Btw, MOntblanc Individuel is one of my favorites :D

SOTD Carner D600 with some Coty's Aspen and Creed GIT that I tested thanks to StrangeMushroom.

I can say based on 1st impressions that I like GIT more than Aventus or SMW.GIT is one of those frags that triggered my olfactory memories of when I was a kid back in 94"-98"

LOL!Lots of work bro :s13:

GIT is quite lasting on my skin.Love the dry-down,again I probably look for a used bottle of 30ml if I intend to get it in future.

btw how's the development of D600?

The D600 is quite similar to Dior Homme on my skin, a bit more floral than DH towards the base after about 3 hours.

Yea I get the same thing and a note that is not listed anywhere. To me,D600 has more flair than DH or even DHI.And I'm still gonna get DH down the road.

SOTD is Versace Eau Fraiche.Usually this frag don't really last more than 4-5hrs but today for some weird reason I got about 8-9 hrs.As long there's heat,it will perform.
