There are no strict rules for concentration.
EDT, EDP and P (parfum) can also affect the scent itself. Try sampling Bleu de Chanel at the three different concentrations. Similar but different; the scents get a bit more heavy as the compositions are tweaked across concentrations.

Actually, longevity of a perfume does not necessarily correlate to the label.
For example, Colonia Essenza is an EDC (cologne), and it lasts easily > 10 hours. YSL L'Homme Ultime is an EDT and it last all of 2 hours. Tom Ford Costa Azzura is an EDP and it lasts at most 4 hours.
It really depends.
