Don't worry, just be a little bit thick skin haha.
I built a relationship with the salespeople at my favourite shops. They know I go in to test frags and I joke with them and shoot the ****. I also know that some of their stuff is the cheapest bar none (including online) and I have bought many a frag from them.
However, this does not obligate me to buy a frag from them if I know I can get it significantly cheaper elsewhere.

If there are frags that are not available locally then the only way to get a sample is to buy one. So far I have used Perfume Samples, Perfume Decants, Indie Perfumes, Scents and Vintage Perfumes with quite good results. Hope this helps.

Thank you so much for the list. Would you be so kind to tell me where to try them out as well? :)

The only fruity perfume I like is from Hermes, Un Jardin Sur Le Toit, sweet and fruity. I love this smell and it can last on me for the whole day.=:p

Perfume shops like Perfume Les Paris, Tangs and Robinsons department stores, and airport duty free. :)

Oh the Hermes Hermessence series only at Hermes boutiques.

Quick review of Tom Ford Black Orchid:

_5356408.jpg

My first impression on opening the box is damn that is a beautiful bottle! It really is. Love it! Its the same shape/size as TF men's collection like TF for Men, and TF Grey Vetiver. But the marketing is targeted at women. More on that later.
First spray on the paper stick and WTF! It totally doesn't smell like anything else I've ever smelt (which may or may not be a good thing). Even the salesperson crinkled her nose as she was expecting a totally different scent. To me it smelt floral, I swear there was a rosy note. Must have been the orchid, which I don't have much experience with. Paired with that, there is a gourmandish note which must be the chocolate. Just on the periphery there is a sour berry note which I'm guessing is the blackcurrant. Mixed in with all that is a tinge of spices/incense and the drydown shows up the vetiver/earthy/woodsy notes, but with the initial floral/chocolate/berry still playing a part.
With my experience of Encre Noire (which I didn't like at first), I knew that this one will take time to appreciate. Black Orchid is strong, confident, not for the faint of heart. Its not a party/clubbing frag, more like a cocktails/black tie event scent. Also appropriate for work. My initial feel is its unisex but leaning towards women. I gave a sniff to a friend who is not into frags and asked his impression if he thought it was a men's or women's frag and he said "Men's for sure! Its so masculine." So different people will get different feel out of it (just what I want in a frag). Its supposed to be a woman's frag but many people accept it as unisex and many stores (in the US and overseas) are displaying it in the men's section. Google to read all about it, I won't elaborate. Apparently Michael Jackson wore TF Black Orchid.
Longevity is very long lasting, sillage is enormous. My wife has worn it 2 days straight and at the end of her work day it is still projecting. I love it! She says she wouldn't have bought it by herself but is glad that I did because she is loving it and how she can smell herself now and then throughout the day.
I haven't worn it yet, I won't wear it to work just yet because I work in close proximity to my colleagues and don't want to gag them. I am waiting for the right occasion, like a dinner date with my wife to wear it. But only if she isn't, of course.

PS. I have Mugler's A*men 50ml for sale. New, never sprayed, unboxed SGD50.
