That's the one thing (which I hope someone from these shops read it) is greet the customer but short of anyone shoplifting, let the guy experience your layout. It's so irritating

"Hi sir , you looking for anything today, citrus aquatic blah blah"
Shows you the fragrance on the counter
"It's very popular" Yes so I want to smell like everyone?

In that way Escentials in Paragon the ladies are abit more chill. Robinsons they're just hungry for something. Had Bleu de Chanel EDP but wasn't a good performer. Have Armaf Aventus clone which is not bad. But not a beast. I know Nautica and Versace PH are good but they're abit younger smelling. Looking for a warm weather day scent now. Looking at D&G Light Blue and Invictus Aqua. A rather unique one I sniffed was Armani Diamonds. That's really cool tbh.

Couldn't agree more. I hope they can be less persistent on their sales techniques. It is good to recommend but not to overdo it.

Nice selection of fragrances you have there. I will go try sample Bleu de Chanel as i have heard quite a number of positive reviews on it.

Currently collecting designer fragrances first before going in to niche fragrance. Still long way to learn and enjoying the process. Now i am addicted to juices.:D

Which Robinson's has beans? I've been to Metro and Robinson's and they rarely have it I thought.
Sephora has it for sure. Mustafa's game is best prices with minimal customer experience or value added. At the other end of the spectrum, the Maison of The Hour Glass has a chamber where you spray Federic Malle fragrances in to smell it. It's so well thought out luxury its very impressive.

I saw and used it once at Metro Centrepoint last week. Its in a small jar thats why i thought its there by default, at any fragrance stall. Anyway just checking if there's any of you who actually do bring your own beans or coffee when going sampling?

Speaking of Hour Glass gascon7 does that place feel far more intimidating than department stores? Never been there before. Can we just walk in and sample just like that? All the testers are on the shelves or we need the sales ladies' attention?

hahaha i also find that place very intimidating and unwelcoming :s13:
Haha the Malmaison? They will scrutinise you and see whether you're off $$. Expected cos in regular department stores the products are regular products. Even Robinson's doesn't have Prada section or some other high end luxury line. All products 90% of the time are less than 1k SGD. Malmaison the decor alone is so plush is crazy. So the sales people are so used to dealing with a certain clientele. So if you suaku come in with Haivanas then obviously they ll be polite but you can sense they know you're full of it. I've seen people drop 200k in 30 mins while I was smelling perfumed air. That's next level. But yea swag it up, look like you belong, don't take out your sunglasses indoors and smell some cool frags, act like your a connoisseur and have fun. At most Robinsons is just around the corner :)

To get an idea of what I am talking about take a look here

See that glass chamber thing. The guy will spray it in and you sample there. It's natural air or something. He was telling us
the story before. It's an experience being there.

:eek:realli ah???

So must dress nice nice and ready to buy then can go in?
Haha not dress nice nice but put it this way, unless you're blowing 6 figures dress how you want.
But if you're just going to sample and maybe pick up a bottle which is gonna be less than 1k no harm looking slightly better than normal. And there's no dress code to enter. But as I said, spend 10 mins interacting with the sales staff you ll tell the difference between Robinson's and them.

In fact, there's another fragrance place in Fullerton which sells Parfums de Marly and Alexandre J, Xerjoff and that lady is unreal. She's local for one and she sounds like a Singaporean who has good manners and professionalism. I rate her higher than SIA stewardesses. The decor is lush like a cigar room, they have oud wood samples there for their fragrance and any fragrance person who has an interest will be impressed at the detail they put in.

Need to look at the correct place. This brand is not displayed together with the other designer fragrances.
