Thanks!

big fan of Wonderoud by Comme des Garcons in oud fragrances
try it!

Thanks for taking the time to share your wealth of knowledge. It appears that I'm spoilt for choice!

Wow, burning Agarwood..

Tangs/Escentials carry AdP, but not sure if they have Colonia Intense Oud.

Beyond Singapore there are a lot more options, even brands like loccatine and bodyshop carries Oud perfumes, just not in local stores.

Some other examples to try available in SG.
Tom Ford Oud Wood Private Blend
Byredo Accord Oud or Oud Immortel
MFK Oud
Amouage Jubilation XXV
Lartisan Al Oudh
Christian Dior Private Collection Leather Oud
CdG Wonderwood
Le Labo Oud 27

If you are feeling adventurous, you can also try.
Christian Dior Private Collection Oud Ispahan
Most of the Amouage range whether marketed for men/ladies.

If you travel out, check out all the Montale, Mancera and ByKillian.
BK Rose Oud
Montale Black Aoud
Guerlain Les Deserts dOrient series.

Personally, my favourite is ByKilian Rose Oud, Amouage Jubilation XXV and TF Oud Wood.
One thing though, this series of perfumes with "Oud" is marketed at Middle Eastern segment, hence the prices are all a bit unreasonable.

Do you guys buy those small bottles of perfume decants? It's quite common from perfumedcourt and luckyscent but not much variety here.

I just receive mine from a seller in carousell. I'm sort of inspired to sell also since I have quite a few which I bought on impulse and I can't really appreciate.

The massive logistics aside, spray bottles, small carton/kraft envelope, etc.... The mere thought of conversing/bargaining with buyers (particularly low ballers) is daunting.

Thank you.
I'm deliberating if there's even a market here for this, especially for lesser known niche brands like the ones I collect mostly. And also the cost/effort involved and if I would pay the same myself. lol

Taking a 75ml Serge Luten ISM as example.
I buy from Barneys ... 310USD

A 5ml spray bottle from Daiso $2
Postage about $1?
Kraft envelope is around 50 cents?

Perfume cost itself is (310/75) x 5 x 1.4 = $29
About $32 and that is just the cost with no profit in mind.

The same bottle bought in Paris would be €170, bringing down the cost to $20.
However, my bottle is indeed 310USD from Barneys, nothing much I can do about the difference in cost here. But as usual from my experience in Carousell, all the bargaining and low balling ..

Perhaps I'm overthinking...

Just do a site, and set a fixed price to sell?
dont do on carousell lo

A new site would need a lot of initial marketing expenses to get traffic and visibility, it will be a very full time thing to manage the site on top of handling the sales. Which is why I'm looking at some platform to do it such as Carousell or Shopee with ready traffic.

Earlier, I wanted to get rid of some unopened perfume (Christmas presents) which I didn't like, price easily 50% to 70% below retail, include registered mail.

I get questions such as Authentic right? $30 can? Meetup? Bought when? Used? :s22:

It's a nice local app targeting at local market, but some local clientele seriously...:s13:

Alternative is eBay, Facebook fan page's shop or maybe a Blog platform.
Well thats where the people who would benefit from a service like this need to spread the word. In UK and USA, people tend to do this automatically. Word of mouth marketing. In Singapore that doesn't happen as much imo.

The best way to get some kind of movement is if you can organise a meetup of some sort and everyone must bring a guest who is keen and wants to buy the fragrance. Would be better if can sample. Start a meetup.com event and post on fragrantica, here and a few forums and spread the word and work from there.

This I agree, I had a lot more instances of word of mouth SIC recommendations while in UK. Over here, I hesitate even when I share a good deal (like that 11.11 and Black Friday sale) in case I get accused of advertising. Things are just weird here.

Currently, some of my friends do come to my place to decant perfumes to try sometimes. My idea was to let them try unique perfumes from independent brands/perfumers, they usually take 1 or 2ml to try a few times, if they like it then go buy from FiF or when they travel. Such masterpieces will never be known if people have no access to them, hence decants are a great way to spread them.

However, things will be a bit different when it comes to business, have to think of price point vs effort. (In Carousell, cheap still got to handle abuse. -.-) Got to sit down and think about this, thank you for your suggestions.
Not to forget some frags are 150++. Try 1 to 2 times is a joke. So is about finding like minded people who have good tastes. BTW anyone wants the following frags, there's a guy selling it on Carousell. Just got a Bentley for Men Intense and Cartier from him.

1. Spicebomb Extreme
2. Rasisi Tasmeem
3. DSquared Potion
4. Bvlgari MIB
5. Raghba for Men
6. Linstant de Guerlain
7. Mugler Pure Coffee
8. Chanel Antaeus
9. YSL M7 Oud Absolu
10. Aigner Oud

Anyone knows where to get different scents in a smaller packaging to test out/play around?

My bottle seems to take forever to finish using, getting used to the scent... no effect on me liao

In the US, they even have monthly scents mailed to subscribers

Carousell, there are quite a number of people selling perfume decants off their own collection at reasonable prices.

Decant for some. Others try Lucky scent. I'm compiling a list of some samples I want to try soon. All 4-5USD excl shipping.
