We, Note 5 users have got nothing to do with Note 7 bah..


How old is your Note 5 already?

Probably due ageing battery or faulty fast charge adapter or cable.

Not only you. Mine too about a couple of months back. Like sometimes i notice it's charging at half the current (i have an app that monitort the current during charging and discharging), i unplug and plug it back and wait till it charge higher. So now i re-enabled Fast Charge again on cable and strangely, it seems to be no longer that hot when using it haha.

Think you need the app to monitor else you could be charging at half the speed and not knowing.

Like sometimes i notice it's charging at half the current (i have an app that monitort the current during charging and discharging), i unplug and plug it back and wait till it charge higher. no AOD or the animate feature.
The only thing I noticed is the october security patch.
and there's a "display scaling" option on the Display setting.
and when you select a text from the browser and copy it, the google translater popups on the right and there's a mini translation window.
*edit- The gallery changed? there's tabs now. not sure if this is because of the system update or I updated the theme.

No. either clear cache or check which app is eating up your cpu.
clear cache through the recovery would be nice too.

Note5 wont have AOD... AOD is a hardware thing introduced in S7, S7E and N7.

I use a Screen Off and On App to lock my screen.

After the new update, it required me to key in my PIN as an "additional security..." when I wanna unlock my screen using fingerprint sensor after I locked my screen using that app.

WTF sia...

However, If I locked my screen using the Power button. I can unlocked my screen by just using fingerprint sensor without prompting me to key in my PIN!

So, is the new security patch broke the Screen Off and On app?
