Sian..my MM battery life is actually worse than it was under Lollipop. Anyone has any idea to remedy the problem? Now fiddling with Package Disabler Pro.

Edit: Just saw the post on disabling Google backup. Trying that now too.

I think the one i disabled was Samsung backup, not google backup? The google backup is not those photos backup stuff right?

Ok nvm i just saw the heading, it's Google back up wahaha.

Google photo is another culprit for the wakelock. I only enable when want to sync manually

i weigh in on a lot of pros and cons and i just enable wifi sync. So it only sync when i'm home. Battery drain is not dramatic when i do that so i don't care cos most importantly are my photos backup lol. I know Gmail was a scary drainer and disabling it back then really saw the difference.

I dunno how Google photos can be such a huge drainer cos all the phone need to do is to trigger the app whenever a new photo is taken and the other rules like wifi or manual backup to see if it should do a backup. Is the photo app one of your higher battery drainer in the battery settings?

I love Google apps, but them being the actual battery drainers and actual Google apps is kinda annoying haha.

Same and Google is the only company i can trust to come up with a new battery technology and confirm safe to roll out without holding it from us. Other companies i know they'll hoard it until they have no choice or slowly roll out bit by bit to make us buy new phones every year for improved battery life.

I use package disabler app. Very effective. Apps like line and uber takes a lot of battery when not running background. So i disabled these apps and only able them when I use them. After using I disabled them again.

There drain I was referring is due to the bug of *backup* causing constant wakelock and it happens after I plugged in power. The only way to remove that wake lock is a reboot or disabling the backup services

I thought the Samsung manager can do that already without disabling the app? LINE is a messaging app leh, disabling it kinda defeat the purpose lol.
