Hi, any tips for polishing leather sneaker?

Is yours the suede model? If so, how do you take care of the material? Even small droplets of water causes unsightly water marks

its super hard to maintain suede leather thats y i dont even maintain them.
esp when it rains. if water marks appear, the SA taught me to brush the whole shoe with water, so water marks will be more even and give it a slight worn look. therefore the marks wont stand out so much. but im lazy.
