I got my lens recheck and pull out my details at my optical shop. Confirmed the prescription i gave u earlier is correct. No astig.

May i know what is the implication if the ADD is too high? Having strain is the effect of too much ADD. Do i need to replace my lens or by changing habit,e.g. not to look thru lowest part of my lens etc?

Btw, could u pm me ur shop detail so I know who to look for next time.

Thx!

The higher the Addition power you have, the more peripheral distortion there will be to your lenses. Thats why for progressives, when a first time wearer maybe 45++ above try, he/she will realised the wavy/dizziness/distortion when putting it on. Thats why it's better to start early. Strain-wise, a probable factor is that it might be due to overpowering.

Could be due to the ends of the glasses are bend abit too in(curve in) so need to adjust it out.

If bent too in there will be gaps at the area on top of the ears where the ears join with the head. I think its the inflexibility of the frame. Frame material problem most likely.

Can self adjust the temples to the fit u like. For me very particular. Both sides must be equal in tension. A bit tight or loose at one side i will be paranoid. Must keep fine tune. Am i too harsh on myself? Lol

Need some advice. I am looking to purchase a cheap and simple pair of frame from online sources but not being able to try on the frames before buying is making me have second thoughts. Is there any method to ensure good fit just based on the given size information for the frame? I did a rough measurement for my current frame and the width is about 135mm. I have a wide face. Lets say if the frame i am considering does not have spring for the temple hinges, should i be looking at something with width wider than 135mm?

With Wide face, spring hinge is a better option but you need to consider also the frame material. Certain materials are very rigid thus even with spring, it will be uncomfortable as the frame cannot flex. E.g. Wood material or a wood coat over the frame.
Look for ultem materials, most of them are pretty cheap for ultem frames and light. And honestly, trying it is still the best way to find out.
