Yes, it is good.

I regret did not take up their offer for second piece at 50% off, since it is my first time with them so I am a bit careful.

Wow really? Hmmm... I am quite happy with my essillor. Maybe I should get another pair at Owndays to try it out. Many of my colleagues are using Owndays and they have been telling me how good it is as well.

Anyone knows if Essilor Eyezen lens in Singapore have fixed prices?

When I approached the optical shop to check on prices for replacement lens, they took out the Eyezen official brochure and pointed to the price.

They are quoting $220 for Eyezen lens, I think its the 1.5 range of lens

Anyone knows if the pricing is reasonable?

can try who is going to make specs at ownday then take d 50% deal.

Usually 2 persons go make specs then share d cost quite worth it.

I am not sure if they allow the second pair to be a different person. I also thought about that.

Hi Gangster and friends,

Looking to do just lens as I already have frame, 1.74 lens with -8.00 SPH no astig.

Prefer to keep it below $200. Any recommendation?

Visited an optical shop, quoted $180 for solar lens (not heard before) $250 for Kodak. Any place to recommend?

Thanks!

Sola lenses is under zeiss. But like their 3rd tier lens. Sola-AO-zeiss just like Kodak is under essilor but among their sub group. Were you quoted that price for the lenses? Because usually 1.74 around that price range is quite reasonable. Not sure about owndays or zoff... I believe there’s many places here you can visit? Maybe you can let me know where you stay and I recommend you somewhere along that area?

Regarding transferring of your old lens to new frame, can, but you need find similar shape+smaller size.
First part, you just need to ask for the price list and see how much quoted to you. Cannot bluff One when you see the pricelist. But don’t think any shop will want to risk their reputation by ripping you off.(shops that I know of)

Is the price list issued by the lab/ lens company as a guideline or are shops free to mark up? Some shops charge extra for edging fees and other add ons.

Certain shop will charge edging fee if it’s frameless/special cut lenses. That really depends on what kind of lens you getting. Specialty lens e.g. step cut lenses have to pay more for labs to edge.
Pricelist is issued by company already for us to follow. So we cnt mark up for sure. But of course tbh it’s that price such that the shop and company can earn.. or else no one will survive in this trade alr. Discount can be given but not so much whereby customer can tell me places give them 20-30percent discount. That crazy. those maybe is say I give you hoya lens but in the end is give Pentax lens(much) cheaper so it’s still counted as Hoya Ma, but cheaper. So you need to know what you are getting.

Maybe certain single vision 30 dollar. Progressive surely not. Frames depend what brand, certain brand materials better surely more expensive. First markup is done by the brand, then supplier, then us. Just like whatever you buy, clothing, food all got mark up.

Placed an order for Lindberg Buffalo Titanium. Heart damn pain but really just can’t get myself to take the other Lindberg as the shape and colour just don’t look as good as horn. How much u all pay for the Zeiss digital Lens 1.67? Want to gauge got tio chop or not because bargain too much for the Lindberg Horn scared they markup for the lens

I have a noob question.
When doing an eye test, if the alphabet looks hazy but u can still roughly identify the alphabet, will u identify the alphabet or say not clear?

Say not clear to prevent incidents whereby when you collect specs then tell the staff that it’s not clear and causing remake of lenses which will delay your glasses to be done.
Sometimes may not be power issue but other issue posteriorly of your eye, eye muscle, internal astigmatism and more...
