If i'm looking at blue light prevention lenses,
either Crizal Prevencia or Duravision BlueProtect, what can I expect the price to be?

I can't remember my exact prescription but

plus power less than +2.00 and with astig but not extremely high.

Will be fine without 'high index' type lenses as I'm sure my power isn't high enough to require those

Our usual practice is to recommend progressive lenses based on client's needs & the level of comfort he/she require instead of selling by brands.

A pair of 1.50 index progressive lens with basic design starts from $180.
Depending on your needs, you can also choose to top up & have Add-ons like:
Higher index for even thinner lenses
Wider Angle lenses
Colour changing lenses (E.g. Transitions, Photochromic)
HEV Light (Blue) Filter (E.g. Asahi-Lite UV3G, Tokai Lutina)

Hi,

Basic stock lens for transition are grey and graphite green. It cost 260 for basic 1.5 index lens(RRP)

250 for 1.6 transition is not a bad price. RRP is 310(pricelist).

3++(probably not discounted yet as maybe they afraid customer just want to check price and compare so never give you the full discounted price)

410 is when you are either(power out of the normal range e.g. astig more than 200) OR else the colour you want are the more premium colours e.g. brown, sapphire(blue),amethst(pinkish), amber(brown/yellow) or emerald(more green).

Thanks Bro for your recommendation. I'm just wondering if it make sense to do lens with progressive and transition, which is likely quite costly, when I start having long sightedness 2 years back, and likely to get worst.

If you tend to be under the sun alot, then it makes sense to have the additional protection (Glare reduction). Otherwise, normal lenses also provide the same amount of UV (400nm)protection as a pair of transitions.

For additional UV protection up to 420nm, you can consider using blue filters such as Asahi Lite UV3G or Tokai Lutina lens material

I believe this is a common misconception about eyechecks.

Eyechecks are NOT done for free.

Most shop do it for ''free'' if you make a pair of glasses or Contact lens.
Our eyes are important just like our health. A good example is e.g. we see a doctor for a body/health check, we still have to pay a consultation fee or even for a quick check at the dentist.

We,Optometrist and Opticians also study, train and make sure we are qualified before coming out to the field to practice. Thus it's not some ''Chapalang''/unqualified individual that is checking your eyes.

Our eyes are really important thus we make sure that we put our utmost best in the refraction and analysis all the time.

I hope this clears up all about the notion too
