I got quoted $600 for zeiss single vision superb 1.74 with duravision blue protect lens only. For 600 deg short sighted and astig. Is this a reasonable price?

They also told me the 1.74 will have to be custom made and not using stock lens. Is this the case?

I bought the lindberg buffalo horn + zesis digital lens for about 10months and still loving it very much. it is the best spectacle that I own and sometimes I feel like getting another pair lighter in colour but unsure which to go for....

Thanks will wait for their entire line to be brought over during 2nd half of year to tryout. Will be my next pair to upgrade to.

I'm guessing the frame alone 4k, lenses above 600 or 1k+ for progressive.

No one will have knowledge unless you are the big shots in the company. No one will leak this kinda secrets.
Their products are selling so well it is hard to stop them.. Rubbish products? To each his own..

No la they even showed me the rrp catalogue. Its actually a shop I made my last pair and pretty happy with it. I wasn't 100% sure on the frame so didn't make the purchase yet

For a half frame, am I going to get significant thinner lens if I go for 1.74 over 1.67 index?

Before they took over Oakley used to be reliable and the washers don't corrode for no reason. After the takeover they upped the price and quality plunged. Same can be said for Ray-Ban which used to be sold at petrol stations.

Which model are you referring to?
Crosslinks, wingspans, lizard, and many more price actually has dropped. Even their radar sunglasses also price drop.

It depends on how high your degree is. When we are talking -5.00—-6.00 or even -7.00, depending on which frame size(length), a 1.67 might even be enough at times. Also 1.67 has a better impact resistance quality compared to 1.74 even though 1.74 has a higher index.

My own buffalo horn, I chose not to polish/wax/shine it so it can achieve the washed/aged look but prolly after 1-2 more years then it be more obvious.

As what gangsterkia mentioned, sometimes depending on the frame, wont make much difference.
However, for half frames, it will actually look nicer if the lenses are thinner (imo) so go for it if you don't mind the extra cost

Oakley is still reliable. So many people still wearing them...
price wise it actually dropped like what gangsterkia mentioned.
even rayban as well... i don't know why you say the price went up...
now you won't see rayban sold at petrol kiosks. only authorised dealers. Beware of many shops selling unauthentic goods.

Petrol station in US not SG. Last time no one bought aviator glasses and I think it was Tom Cruise and Top Gun which made it famous. As for price and quality this is what i heard from my friend a long time ago since I never owned Oakley and don't intend to start. My current pair is Silhouette and probably Lindberg end of year after getting bonus.

Materials made out of living things like Horn not recommended due to high maintenance costs. Better options would be carbon fibre or gold as luxury frames to last longer.

Thankfully Maintenance for Buffalo horn frames, not necessarily Lindberg too are not so extensive.

Once a year or before you go overseas to colder countries, just bringing it back to your optical shop to do some light maintenance and its FOC. So not to worry about any Costs. Even nosepad and the temple rubber strips also FOC. If break then high cost to replace

Did anyone charge you for maintenance cost?

I have a feeling my lens are wrongly prescribed so I will like to go for eye check and upgrade my lens at the same time..
