Dynamic series is about 680 onwards(semi-customized)
Lifestyle series range from 820 onwards.(semi-customized)
ID series is about 1000.(fully customized)
Mystyle is about 1750.(fully customized)

All quoted from pricelist. Discount varies from shop to shop.

Each difference in the tier are their Lens design,Soft/Hard which would affect your peripheral distortion, intermediate zone and reading area(wide/narrow)=(need to move head more to read)

Currently using nulux EP single vision. If switch to lower tiered lifestyle series will it be good enough? Reason is because not rich enough to afford the best tier Mystyle because 1.6 index already costs $1,750. What will be the cost for Lifestyle at 1.67 index? I assume should be more than $820?

Read somewhere that Lifestyle Balansis is Hoya’s new progressive lens, designed to make advanced technologies available for more wearers and incorporates three proven Hoya technologies (View Xpansion, Integrated Double Surface Design and Stable View Enhancer).

Balansis offers: higher levels of visual comfort for a wider audience; improved vision during modern daily activities, e.g. using mobile devices; an easy fitting procedure, with no individual parameters needed.

Is this quite similar to nulux EP where no parameters need to be measured but still offers quite high quality vision?

It’s cheaper than progressives, has lesser distortion at the peripheral thus it’s optimal for early presbyopes. Easy to get adapted to so if you transit to progressives, there will be lesser headaches/dizzy sensation.
Consider it a stepping stone before heading to progressives.

So digital lens will be better than progressive lenses? How long it takes before need to transit to progressive lens? Whats the price like?

Don’t take that. It’s is a slight upgrade from the old Hoya FD which many people feels that it’s not so comfortable. Go with lifestyle V+ would be a better option.

Only if you are between 36-42/43 as digital lenses can correct up to +1.25 Lao Hua/presbyopia power. Anything more then it’s progressive

Transition phase is when you feel that the digital lenses reading is not comfortable and you have keep pushing your glasses up to read or even prefer removing them.(edit)

Nulux ep is already one of their better single vision lenses thus no need to go lower or even higher unless you feel irritation with your clarity.
But if you are looking towards progressives then, digital or progressives price will be higher.

No. Superb from zeiss is better. To match superb you are looking towards MYstyle profile.

Lifestyle v+ is closer to superb Asiana(zeiss)

What is the price difference between zeiss precision superb and hoya lifestyle? Do they belong to same tier?

Mystyle profile is another name for hoya ID? Looks like hoya lifestyle V+ for index 1.67 will definitely be above $1k and smash my bank.

Looks like i have to either save up aggressively, or look at zeiss which for cheaper alternative i guess? But germany lens do not have double aspheric lens thinner design only japanese lens like hoya have them? Or else might really have to look at those "unbranded" lenses liao.

Nope. Ep is a higher tiered lenses. Highest is Nulux V+. Nulux active classic is under anti-fatigue together with SYNC lll.

For Low reading power(<+1.50) aka "lao hua", a pair of progressive lenses would suffice.

If your reading power is +1.75 or more, the intermediate region tends to get smaller. We would recommend using a pair of progressive lenses + another pair of office lenses.

Progressive lenses for your daily activities other than desk usage. Office lenses solely for desktop usage.

I believe a normal pair of glasses with blue light filter will work fine for you. But if you feel strain in your eyes, you can consider using an anti fatigue lens to help further relax your eyes more.

Im seeing alot of Hoya and Carl Zeiss lenses. Is there a need or just a preference for those?

Preference imo If clarity is a factor then yes, those are preferred. You can also look at their Sub tiered lenses e.g. stellify,Pentax(hoya) or AO(zeiss).

Understand its a spectacles thread, but I'm looking to replace prescription lenses for my sunglasses so I hope you guys can give me some directions.
I got a sunglass right now that is without prescriptions.

Wanting to go replace the current lens with prescription lens.
Will wish to retain the polarize and gradient color lens too.
Any recommendation for brand of lens and shop to go to?
