I would recommend ID lifestyle and ask the optician/optometrist to do a Back Add for you so your reading zone would be wider/more comfortable.
Id lifestyle is one tier above balansis. Or my usual recommendation is mystyle profile and thankfully no issues with them yet.

Is hoya lifestyle balansis good enough for first time progressive lens user??

Oh no, I totally overlooked it. Yes it is double aspherical.
Hoya has really best reading.
Zeiss has the best distance but reading not as good. If you need to know in detail you can pm me. It is due to certain technical reasons.

Which is the best, as of now I am leaning towards hoya.

Thanks, your answers are good enough. But i think hoya slightly more costly than zeiss right.

If you compare the TOP tier then Hoya is more expensive, but if mid tier like Hoya lifestyle v+ or lifestyle balansis then zeiss mid tier cost more.

Thanks, your answers are good enough. But i think hoya slightly more costly than zeiss right.

Hi,

I just got a quote for oakley crosslink frame with adjustable nose bridge and carl zeiss "transition" type lenses at the thinner end off 1.6 if im not mistaken, their charging $620, but reduce it to $570.

Is that a good buy? Im comparing it to my older oakley voltage with essilor transitions which i got it in 2016 for $480. So after 3 years, a mark up off $90.

Hi, firstly it’s a different model thus you can’t compare it this way. Price is bound to be different. Also Oakley crosslink trubridge/MNP is their newest in terms of crosslink series.
Next from an essilor transition to zeiss photofusion, even at 1.6 index there’s bound to be a price difference due to branding and quality.

Thus it’s probably an affordable rate I would say. May/may not be able to get a better price outside.

Hope this helps. Cheers!

So what the shop is quoting for the latest oakley frame and the carl zeiss lenses would be within "reasonable" price range at $570?

If its reasonable, then i'll spring for it.

Thank you for your input.

620 before less as you mentioned? A 1.6 zeiss photofusion cost 365rrp thus frame is 255 if calculate this way.

So, you do the math ba. If you are comfortable with the price you go ahead and do. If not can try ask for more discount.

Cheers!

Hi, I have this issue for a a numbers of years but had never asked for an opinion online, even after telling my usual spectacle shop and getting a new pair of glasses, the issue is still not solve.
I have short sighted and astigmatism, And I always feel uncomfortable after putting my glasses for more then 2 hours. My eyes will get tired and it will feel better after I take them down.
Any explanation for this?

Hi bro,

there's couple of possibilities why this is happening,
1. Myopia/ Astigmatism incorrect
2. Phoria/ Tropia
3. Accomodation/ convergence issues

I suggest dropping by to have a quick check to determine the actual cause of this discomfort.
PM sent :)
