Hi thanks. It’s been more than a year in fact, got it last jan 2020. My old pair before this, was even worse. It makes my eye tired even when normal day wearing. That’s y I find it weird, as wearing it while watching tv will strain my eyes. But I don’t feel it when I’m wearing in while in the cinema.

How far is your tv from you? Also did your prescription changed a lot?

About 2.6m, from my sofa and the tv. Did a measurement. As for prescription, didn’t went to optic shop since last year. Maybe I will pm u to arrange a day, pay u a visit.

I have a habit of rubbing my eyes or wiping the bridge of my nose (because my face very oily). But without removing my rimless. So my spectacles shift a lot on my face over the course of one day. Long term, will it damage the frame/lenses? Should I take off my specs whenever I want to rub my eyes?

Also asking on behalf of my brother who just broke his specs frames. He ish careless with his spectacles, even more than me. He often falls asleep while wearing them, got a couple of times he sat on them by accident. His begree is quite high, about -400 on both sides.

For him, what kind of frames are more durable - thick plastic or lightweight titanium? Or maybe stainless steel?

It’s better to remove, over long term it might cause your temples or glasses to go out of alignment.
Thick plastic is tough but once they go out of shape, it’s tougher to bend them back.
I suggest more flexible materials like the Lindberg rim series, it’s on the pricier side but can last for many years.(good investment). You can ask him to take a look at the rim series.

Hi everyone,

I have been following this thread for a long time and have benefited significantly from the good advices given by some of gurus here.

I thought I could perhaps contribute my personal experience on the Hoya MyStyle and Zeiss Individual 2 progressive lens.

Some context. My eyes are very sensitive and I can get dizzy easily when I switched between my glasses. When it was time for me to move into progressive lens, I went with Hoya MyStyle based on the comments here as well my optician’s recommendations.

It was a great choice as I could get used to it almost immediately. There is no blurriness when I rolled my eyes up and down the different zones. It was very comfortable.

Recently, I decided to try the Zeiss Individual 2. They are also great lens but I would definitely go with MyStyle. Unlike MyStyle, there were some blurriness when I rolled my eyes up and down the different zones. For me, this is the key determining factor.

What is good about Zeiss? Sharpness.

Pc lenses are what we term as blue light filter lenses. Thus on its own, it is just a lens coating add-on, however when we talk about a computer lenses, it works similarly to a progressive lenses whereby the top segment is for you to view your intermediate/computer distance and the lower segment is for you to view your near documents.
Thus, pc lens is a coating to add onto a lenses, computer lenses are a specialised lens itself for specific purpose.

I just went to 1 of the neighbor spec shop and ask.
He told me.
Computer lens include frame + single vision lens = $120, index 1.60, reading distance about 1 arm long.
He said if need to read handphone, you need to adjust the distance urself.
Does it sound right?

What other thing I need to take note off or ask when making computer lens?

Following your advise in the forum, I went to get a lindberg glasses at Jamco. I'm now experiencing pressuring discomfort from my nose pads. I actually stay near to Thomsom Plaza. So, is it possible to recommend a friend of yours to do the adjustment for me? I don't mind paying a small fee like $10. Thanks Gangster Boss.

Errr. I believe he interpreted it as a reading glass which is why he state it as single vision lens. What you need from him is an office lens but he misunderstood it as computer-distance lenses.
Let them know you want to see computer and near at the same time. Or you can let them know you need an office lens.

Some individuals did mentioned that owndays blue light lenses are extremely yellow. Maybe the pc420 would be a better option. I am not updated with their latest lens coating so I might have to learn more about them before advising you..
I have not heard much about their computer progressive lenses too, maybe if there are any users here, might be able to give you some feedback.

That is how a general computer/office lenses work. But if the practitioner is more experienced, the prescription can be altered to help you see further but take note it will/may compromise on other viewing. E.g. see further but lose out on near.

Got what other budget lens brands besides OSS, hi-top etc? Thinking of getting spare frameless pair as my begree changed a lot between my last few specs (overpowered) and current one. So if anything happens, I have nothing I can wear. Thanks.

Will it be half blue half see through due to our climate?

Consider looking at Essilor varilux Physio 3.0 or Hoya lifestyle V+ Clarity series.

Hi, it won’t exactly be half blue, it will still be dark but if you look closer then still can see the eyes. All of them will be fine, but if you are looking towards purely distance clarity, Zeiss is the best. But if you are getting progressives and reading is impt, go with Hoya.
