Haha no choice one progressive lenses. Lenses like these usually we get what we pay for. To get a good lenses we sure must fork out that certain amount of money but... just like ftpo mentioned quite awhile back, sometimes customers just needs a normal lens as I experience customers coming from elsewhere with lenses like trinity(Hoya) but they can settle for a more basic lens.
But of course not all cases are like these.. sometimes could be due to adjustments as some glasses before adjustment might not be sitting at the correct area thus customers will tend to view through the wrong point leading to poorer vision when they are actually using a premium lens.

Hi Gangsterkia, thanks for the advice. Despite it is not a big issue now, I always have reservation in changing glasses particularly it involves progressive lens.:)

Is swissflex really lightweight and durable? Thinking about getting new pair of specs. My whole life been using <RM150 specs. Dunno all these terms astig, power, spherical, etc.

Always been go shop, check degree, choose cheapo frame, collect end of day.

Light yes, durable(subjective). All depend on user handling! If you want a durable, aesthetically appealing frame and light, probably have to invest in one which will cost 200-500 for one. Ball park figure hahaha..

Swissflex typically what price range? Any comparable brands which are fairly robust? Not into branded stuff like Oakley/Berlin/Nike etc.

Will aim for a plain black colour frame lol. What about lens? What to look out and aim for? I see people here use all kind of cheem words, I only know the word degree, even my own degree can't remember

Swissflex maybe ard 280-320? Prices might differ all around.. if you need a plain frame, consider pescara, eyecloud , soul , lightflex or plasta human? Pretty light, flexible and looks pretty appealing. Probably 160-200 for those. Lightflex will be the cheapest of the lot..

Lens as Long as have multicoating, uv protection, anti scratch, anti glare, anti reflection will do. But right now most lens in the market have these properties. Take note even if anti scratch, the lens will still get scratch as it is not scratch proof but more scratch resistant. Depending on your degree/power, different index/thickness of your lenses will be recommended for you bro!

Hope this help!

Hi,

If your objectives are the cost, simple design and light frame (as you mentioned Swissflex), nowadays, there are many valued optical Japanese shops in town which you may wish to explore.
Disclaimer: I do not associated with those shops. I only made a pair of glasses from them recently.

I would also like some advice too, nowadays specs got alot of things then i not sure about anything.

I'm a uni student now, so most of the time would be studying/on computer, also does sports/exercise. Is there like any suggestion on what lens to get or something? Currently i'm using the army black plastic frame, i do find it okay and maybe plan to get back the same type of frame?

Nowadays still got people go JB make specs or not ah, isit still cheaper there? or just go neighborhood store

Anyone know where I can buy replacement ic Berlin frame hinges?

The hinge on my 8-year old frame finally broke. All the spectacle shops I've been to don't carry replacement. Quite frustrating really.

Does anyone know if any shops still sell Tag Heuer spectacle frames? Been to a few shop around my place but they do not seem to carry Tag Heuer any more.

Am looking to replace my current Tag Heuer pair with the rubber legs (forgot the model name as I bought it probably 7 years ago), or is there any similar alternative to this frame? I like this frame a lot as it provides a good grip (does not slide down easily) and is very light.
