Have you tried asking the shop you bought from the frame to ask their supplier? But 8 years highly likely it's been discontinued..

Anyone know where I can buy replacement ic Berlin frame hinges?

The hinge on my 8-year old frame finally broke. All the spectacle shops I've been to don't carry replacement. Quite frustrating really.

Hey all, got a questions for the experts here.

Is it cheaper to get oakley prescription frames and make lenses in JB? A friend was telling me it is way cheaper so wondering how true is that? Looking at Oakley frame coz i love how durable they are. My current one 4 years already and still going strong but i figured its time to make another one.

Thanks!

Bro check the link I show you. Ic Berlin around Sg and maybe your area. Then find the one nearest to you and call and check. But I can tell you chances is high that most shop not willing to do servicing for a frame not done at their place. But hopefully they do help you in this case.
Hope this helps bro!

Unfortunately, the shop has closed, so I can't really go back.

Thanks a lot this really helps.

I don't even mind paying for their servicing really. I don't expect it for free.

Hi GANGSTERKIA, can I have your opinion on this phenomenon I face with my specs.

Some user said it's the coating but I don't get how it can be since those "fractures" seem to be inside the glass itself. The surface only has a few hairline scratches.

Does anyone know if any shops still sell Tag Heuer spectacle frames? Been to a few shop around my place but they do not seem to carry Tag Heuer any more.

Am looking to replace my current Tag Heuer pair with the rubber legs (forgot the model name as I bought it probably 7 years ago), or is there any similar alternative to this frame? I like this frame a lot as it provides a good grip (does not slide down easily) and is very light.

Hi, from what i know it is going to be a long shot.. Their servicing center moved overseas but maybe some shops will still continue selling their brand. I agree many people like it cos of their unique temples and lightweight + comfort design. Can try. But because of after sales servicing issues, most shops might not carry it already.

This is cracking/too much stress of/on the coating. Either the lens lab did not coat it well initially, or due to some reason the stress on the lens made the fringes appear. If its under 6 months to a year bring it back to the place you made it, can replace.

This coating is inside the lens (between the lenses)?

My warranty is over but I'm not sure if this is affecting my vision because it may be placebo that I feel that things I see with my specs on are a slightly blurry when I discovered this.

Good evening, multicoat is generally at the front and back of the lens at the outer surface.

Apart from what user gardens mentioned, it could also be caused by Hot surface environment(dashboard of car, leaving it under the sun for Long period of time, washing with soap or as mentioned too much stressed on the multicoat e.g. The lens size is too big and when forced in the frame the stress will cause the multicoat to crack over time. In your case maybe after awhile. And of course, the test of time if your lenses has been used for 1-2 years some coating my start wearing off..(part of wear and tear).
Hope this helps!

Thank you for your input. Will this cause any issues with the clarity of the lens? Is it advisable to change?

Yes definately, but to what extend will it affect our clarity? That is the question. I've seen many customers coming with badly scratched lenses and they are still comfortable with it. So it all boils down to whether you feel affected by your current vision. If it's not comfortable, then can consider changing.
I've also seen customer with a small scratch at the top of his lens but he don't like it there thus wants to change lenses.. one man meat is another man poison.. haha...
Hope this helps!!!

I'm thinking of changing too because I heard 1.74 lenses will have better clarity, my current ones are 1.60 and my degree are both under 200.

don't know who you heard it from but higher index doesn't equate to better clarity. some brands might be better but its all personal preference. under 200 no need 1.74. 1.6 more than sufficient. i rather use the savings on the lens to buy a nice meal :)

Hi there, what's the best way to maintain your lenses if washing with soap isn't good? I do wash with regular soap sometimes, then pat dry with soft tissue and then use the microfiber cloth.

Best way would either use lens wipes or lens spray. Zeiss has really good ones.

Soap is fine but it has to be diluted and in very small amount. We do make the mistake of just directly putting the concentrated soap over the lenses and in larger amount thus over Periods of time , it will cause the lens multicoat to start peeling.

Using the micro Fiber cloth given is great but also remember to wash the cloth maybe once or twice a week as sometimes small debris might be on the cloth or dirts. Thus if we just carry on using the cloth it will cause more harm to then lenses rather than cleaning. That's why some people will complain saying "aiya my cloth no good, clean so much still got scratches" and when I ask when was the last time you wash your cloth? They be like huh must wash one? I never wash before and just put in my pocket.. thus we need to be aware that it's important too, to wash the cloths.
Avoid using tissue and clothing too as when we are outside, dust and small hard objects might be on our clothes and as we are unable to see them, we use our clothes to wipe and bam, scratches..
hope this helps!
