Has anyone tried? Is it really effective, especially for polycarb lenses?

Aiya no free lunch de la. If you want durable and last longer, sure must pay more mah. If not you buy a cheap frame then have to keep replacing frame plus lenses after 2 years will incur you more costs over the longer term. But if you really no budget then bo bian lor. Just dont play with rimless. Alot other non-rimless frames. In fact rimless also not much you can find now.

Nearly impossible to find small sized full frames, and even those HDB shops that have, sell old stock without manufacturer's warranty against defects.

Durable is subjective. U mean durable from breakage or color fading or corrosion?

If handle with care, frames seldom break, think can last for decades even. If color fades still wearable. If colour fades and expose the steel inside and you afraid of corrosion just buy frames made of titanium only. If you are taking about workmanship then probably frames made in japan may have better quality and last longer before joint breakage appears. The weakest link usually comes from the welded joint parts.

So far i have heard of frames lasting more than 10years. Color do fade over time but still wearable as long its titanium material the metal dont corrode easily.

Worse is that I did not sit on it but rather when I am wearing my spectacle and pushing it to the back of my head then it break suddenly. Not sure if it is the temple too thin.

Anyway got a pair of CK(Plastic one with thick temple). The optician told me it is quite durable from breakage.

what oakley models break so easily?? i been using oakley plastic and metal frame all so sturdy..

Hi inquiring from gurus here..

I researched about essilor gen 8 transitions online.. and it already had a blue protect in the lens.

What confuses me is that.. how come local optical shops still quote gen.8 transitions + crizal prevencia.

Hope someone can clarify.. thanks

Recently check with OWNDAYS if to have this Gen 8 Transitions need top up S$200 ! Previously about coming to two years ago only need top up S$100 but don't know is what Gen.

Previously was gen 7, 8 features quicker fade to clear and faster changing to dark.

However tbh, transitions itself even if the past, already has been able to filter out a certain percentage of blue light.

Do you mind quoting the online article that states it? Bluecapture can’t be done with transitions. Thus the need to use prevencia.

It was gen 7 for a period of time. Owndays have their older version of transitions and the newer gen which requires a higher top-up value. If you noticed, they are slowly raising their prices too.

Ah, so as I mentioned earlier, transitions themselves w/o blue light add on, already is able to filter out blue light. Of course not 20-30% but about 15 or so.

Hey guys...I’m quite drawn to the design of Japonism frames...but they are really pricey, so was wondering if anyone can share their experiences with this brand in terms of quality and build, whether it’s really worth the investment?

It is really subjective. With a higher percentage, most will experience higher saturation/yellowish hue on the lenses which in turn, reduces eye strain.

For sure, yes. But considering it’s price, you may also want to consider Lindberg hahaha

Last time when i was in msia before covid lockdown, the boss of the optical shop there told me japonism is the number 1 brand in japan. Not sure how true but anyway should be one of the best. Quality and build among the best. Now cant go msia othwrwise can recommend u go there buy much cheaper.

Wingspan many years ago model. Usually joints are the weaker parts no choice.

Plastic easier to break. If you really want quality, go for titanium temple.
