Hi, I would like to make a pair of specs for my parents (>60 years old) but I realised that progressive lens itself is expensive, above 1k?
Could anyone please recommend optical shops that sell good quality progressive lens that is less 1k? Owndays, zoff and Lenskart are out.

Good progressive lenses will cost more, no doubt. Really depends on the power and type of lenses you wish to go for.. Which area are you at and will you be willing to travel a little further?

1)your new frame, is it with those nosepads that pushes your glasses further from your eyes?

1)We can rule out the prescription issue
2)We can rule out fitting measuring issue e.g. pupil height and centering

I suspect it could be due to maybe a new frame you purchased, which sitting position might affect your vision. Are you reusing the frame or a whole new frame?

Would love to get some comments on making my next pair of specs. Have been using Owndays / LC past few years as it is convenient for maintenance but would like to try something of better quality.

I have some astig especially at night, which owndays doesn't seem to be able to resolve (the dude told me my eyes might have other conditions which cannot be corrected). Not sure if this is true or just merely their lenses can't help.

I ~28 and generally work in office with computer screen mostly. Intending to get some lens with good coating like Zeiss/ Hoya but open to recommendations. Budget is $300 - $400, anywhere I can make something decent? Thanks!

I went to Visio Optical the other day and these frames retail for $500, but because i couldn't find much on them online i was hesitant to pull the trigger although they felt and looked very nice.

On average based on a titanium frame
That cost 150-200.
the lenses depending on your age and what kind of lens design you want,
I would say 350 for the lenses.(there are cheaper ones but I would recommend getting a lens with some quality to it).
Total damage about 500 for a pair of frame and lens.

It’s impt for the frame to feel comfortable as you will be wearing it for long hours. There are actually many brands that we might not be too exposed to , though they make really good quality frames.. but sorry I can’t help you with this,
I would say like to trust your practitioner and then imptly if the frame is comfortable with you.

Hoya as of now has a promotion islandwide for their digital lenses-sync3.
they have a free upgrade from sync 3 to sync 3 pro which allows for more customisation to be done on the lenses. The lenses retail at about 290 for a basic 1.5 index. Depending on your power, then it might have to go towards a higher index lens.
Or else you can still choose a single vision lens-add on blue light filter then can work with it too.. though I would recommend antifatigue which could reduce eye muscle strain.
