Any recommended shops to get owndays' type of air series coupled with Zeiss lens at reasonable pricing? How much will it cost for below prescription? Anyone can suggest type of high index should be getting?

R -750-050x180
L -750-100x135
270-350 for the lens probably, since your power quite high require 1.67 or higher(recommended)

500 usually 1.60-1.67 index(recommended).
Brands vary, you can try the new transition 7?(if i'm not wrong)
They darken quicker than other series or if you want something thats really dark(go for Hoya Xtrative lenses) IIRC they have the darkest transition lens available atm.

I'm in the army atm so i need to keep myself updated.

Thanks bro.

Price wise? Carl Zesis photofusion for deg 500 1.6 index at? Looking for those darken type outside sun n clear within building.

you should be looking at smth around 280-450 for a zeiss photofusion single vision. If you want it to be much darker than normal transition then go for photofusion. However if you want something with a slightly lighter tint go for transitions and zeiss price range would be somewhere from 300-500. All lens mentioned here are at 1.60 index!
hope it helps!

Zesis from 280? Where recommended for this price? So far quotes are around 400-450. Thanks

Carl Zeiss 1.74 coupled with thick acetate rims to cover lens thickness. For ultimate comfort take phillip starck acetate frame.

Brand information

Collaborating together, Alain Mikli and Philippe Starck released their new concept of eyewear at the Silmo Optical Industry Exhibition in 1996. This concept is designed to represent the next millennium in eyewear. Their combined creativity and talent has given rise to the idea of biovision. "Eyeglasses inspired by the human being". 1998 saw more styles, colours and the addition of the half eye.

The Starck Eyes frames' hinge, the successor to the conventional screw hinge, is a biomechanical articulation designed like a human micro-clavicle. Inspired by the arm's natural intelligence, it shares the same multi-directional freedom of movement as the human shoulder. The secret of its strength: a tendon made of braided composite fibre that can withstand tensile loadings of up to 80kg.

Hi Guru Bros,

Many thanks to all the brothers who have contributed to a very amazing knowledge base for the benefits of all. I didn't know that buying a spectacles can be a shopping experience.

I bought my current pair of Silhouette with Crizal lens at Optique Zone (Queensway SC) 1 year ago. The girl at the shop provides very good service and recommendation of frames.

This year I realised that I need progressive lenses as I could not see clearly when reading and it has been a strain. Therefore I intend to:
a. get a new pair of spectacles with transition lenses;
b. and then replace the lenses of my current pair with progressive lenses.

Hence, I hope to ask for a recommendation on the shop to go to at Queensway SC, Toa Payoh or any shop nearer to the west or central area.

I do not know if there is skills and experience required for prescribing progressive lenses.

Thank you in advance.

I actually recently made my spectacles at Optique Zone too. I was serve by a young gentleman call Jeremy. He is an optometrist and had pretty good customer service. I'm satisfied with my new glasses and will be going back when I need new ones. I'm sure he has the required skill/experience for progressive lenses.

bro, your power suitable for 1.74 index lenses. you can try light frames like ic berlin maybe cos you're just looking for light frames, not necessarily only air series ultem by owndays i guess?

just make a new progressive spec at owndays. looking far is clear but seeing pc and reading not as sharp as my old spec.

R PD 67.5 S-425 C-125 AX 20 ADD+200
L PD 67.5 S-400 C-175 AX175 ADD+200

what could be the cause?
what is AX? my old spec AX is 20 and 175.

hey most likely cause would just basically be the refraction results. its the only reason i can think of which is causing your blur vision right now. try to go back to them and get it checked again, usually lenses come with warranty. another reason maybe is the adjustment of your pair or glasses, try shifting your glasses up and down see if its better. best advise probably would be to go down to local more reputed optical shops to do spectacles, safer.

Thank you DaRkXiDe for the advise. I will probably ask for a optometrist with experience in progressive lenses fixing subtly.

Thanks. I hope they can give more discount for returning customer. I may pop in to optometrist@work next door too.

I would not spend too much for the new pair of spectacles as I intend to use it for outdoor purposes that is sweaty and sticky.

My current silhouette will be reserve for office work usage. This is why I need a pair of progressive lenses.

hi guys, just wanna ask what are your views on owndays?
i see that they use a different kind of lens which they call it aspheric lens which is thinner.
looking at the air untem series with ultra thin lens which makes everything abt $278. worth it?

reason for ultra thin lens is cos my degree is too high.
but i only need it on one side.
