Quoted Crizal Prevencia lens $230 + Rayban titanium frame $180
Consider cheap ?
Consider cheap ?
just did mine at holiday plaza, sun ray @ level 2, beside a hair product shop. i did a titanium frame + "good lens" (as stated by the owner cost 160 myr, while normal lens is 80 myr) for 450 myr.
while my gf made a cheap and very light plastic frame; 150myr. Lens, 250 myr for 1.6 HI bcos her degree is ard 800. so total is 400 myr.
i feel that the owner is not a professional optician, he read out the number and alphabet while giving me an eye test, LOL.
just wondering is it consider cheap?
after dividing by 3! It's considered ok price I must say. hehe
The reason why the bluelight pass or cannot pass is solely dependent on the coating they use and how much um of wavelength of the light it can shield off.
If for crizal, they can block up to 400um so it means they still will ''make the transitions turn dark''. For hoya they can block up to 420um with their (front and back coating of blue coat) technology, and that's why the transitions wont change or the paper cannot see the passed-through light.
Questionably, we just have to take the opticians/optometrists advice because they will recommend based on what their boss ask them to, and also which company they support more (Economies of Scale; they will naturally sell u their higher profits since they are running businesses also).
Verdict: we don't know the effect of having to block TOO much um of wavelengths is gonna be v useful since, blocking TOO much can also take out some of the visible light that is supposed to be useful. Like antibiotics in pharmacological medicine context.
Hope this helps.
thanks for the details info.
it is advisable to do the blue coated transition lens? i wanting to do it because i use PC and go outside very often and based on this, it seems to helps alot.
