how much is tag frames priced at?

any good shop to purchase tag frames?

The whole spec costs me $859, $230 for the lens while $629 for frame after a 15% discount. I got it from Ion's Bejewelled after a friend recommended me. Imo the staffs there are quite friendly and they provide good services. :s13:

Sounds ok. Frankly, sometimes it is difficult to find the cheapest unless you have a friend who recommends you a shop. Time is wasted if we shop around.

Can I check with the lense experts here.

I have an old pair of transition lens which is badly scratches, I think many scratch which seem to destroy the first coating, then I use autosol to polish off this first coating. Anyone know what is this first coating?

Without this first coating the lens still turn greyish under sunlight. Still safe for the eye?

no it is not safe, better get a new pair of lens.

normally the first coating will protect your eyes from UV rays

no problem dude! :)

I made my Hoya 1.67 AS-MC (475/575) for S$110. We (colleagues & family) thought it's a very reasonable price.

My colleague, whose 'degree' is lower (200, both sides, I think) was quote between S$50-S$80 (sorry, I can't remember exactly). We thought it's pretty resonable too.

Something additional, the last I check (last Sat.), Hoya 1.70, for my prescription, was S$280 ! So, naturally, I stick to 1.67 for my new frame ..... :)

nope its not true. the coating itself is what you usually call the multicoat surface. its mainly to reduce reflections and UV radiation. for any lenses higher than 1.6 index itself has UV absorbing properties in the lens material itself. up to 90+% of UV will be absorbed

Oops! Pai seh pai seh, forgot to drop the location. Sim Lim TOWER, Soon Lee Optical.

It actually majors in Rayban. I'm no shopping guru, but I dare say I haven't seen such healthy range from other optical shops. The price is also very reasonable. My Wayfarer 2113-A with the normal Rayban lens = S$110.

The many other shops in town (any many heartlands) should be ashame of themselves!
