The eyewear industry in Singapore... have prices that are extremely far apart...

I believe the original price for lens is very cheap and is marked up by stores for earning and survival.... especially stores with lots of workers and in areas with high rental.

eg. 1.67 lens.. I can get it under $100 and I also can get it above $300...
different store different price... and the difference can be more than $200!
:D:D:D

1.67 under $100 is possible (Hitop lens) but confirm not Seiko or any other branded lens :s13:

Oakley frames/eyewear have a fixed price throughout the country. The price will be similiar in all shops.

For lens brand I think its safer to stick to those that you have tried and feel that it is good for u... because it is very personal.
e.g. Some opticians advice going against certain brand but I tried that brand before and it works well for me. Some opticians recommended some good brand but turned out that I throw away that spec...
it's the same for almost every other thing besides eyewear... its always safer to continue with brands that you tried and find it good.

I wanted to stick with Nikon but was told it will be a high $300+ for 1.67. My current 2-year old pair was only about $250 back then. Not sure why there's a sharp price increase...

I find that the coating for my Essilor lens are stronger than Nikon's, but Nikon wins clarity-wise. Hoping to find a compromise with Hoya without the heavy price tag!

Did your Seiko lens come with any certificate or so?

I think only HI TOP can be under $100 lor..... LoL

If this shop offer Seiko (1.67) lens under $100, PLS recommend leh, then
everyone can flock there and make lens le.....
since all the shops (like more than 10 shops, different co.) i've ever asked
all quote Seiko lens at the range of $300-400 +!

I guess is their typo error, eg: some optical shop have their receipt differentiate between frame and lens, believe is due to lazy so they just key it as long it hit the amount they quoted u. haha :) if I'm wrong please show us someways to benefit those who wear Seiko lens thanks!

Yah sure after I make lens from them again... will update here...

anyone knows if for Swissflex rainbow....

do they sell the temples separately? Thinking of buying 2 different designs and able to swap them around once in a while...
that would be nice...

You mean the free pen? Yes as long you purchase Essilor Varilux Lenses no matter is(what type of lens) Comfront, Physio, etc... you will have the free pen. Is a all optical shop promotion.

Which brand of lens is good for clarity on both ordinary transition & progressive-transition.

Has been using essilor but feels the clarity is not there. Is there any better made out there?

Varilux Physio 360. Is Zeiss very much more expensive? Which model?

for Zeiss lens there is 2 type i would recommend since you are already wearing one of the top lens for essilor.

Recommend:

GT2 Asiana (Higher Premium Zeiss) (Slightly more expensive than essilor lens)
FrameFit (Ultimate Premium Zeiss) (Very Much more expensive) :s13:

PM me if you want to know in detail thanks!!
