ic Berlin, Swissflex

Looking to purchase a new pair of specs.
Frames considered are ic Berlin and Swissflex
Please share your experience relating to durability and how long the coatings on the frames can last without peeling.

How does the price compare between the 2 brands?

Please recommend a few shops that carry both brands and are reasonable in price on both frames and lens.

Thanks.

hahaha :D i suggest you dont get too expensive specs if you always get rough. Plastic specs will be better & safer not to say cheaper.

just bought my specs from optical88, want to ask about the lenses pricing. i was quoted $189 (after 10% off) for delux 1.6 UV400 EMI HMC . my eye degree is -425/-475 . Is the price alright? the manager also very smart z.z starting show mi crizal lens one around <$50 more .. then she start talking about this delux with more feature like anti pc radiation(EMI?? isnt it same as anti-glare in other words?). then she talk about seiko one's @$150. Obviously ppl like mi will choose the most value for $ one ... >.< . only when i google then found out delux is their inhouse brand zz. if i know earlier i just pick the more reliable brands and pay more.

Many people have gone to optical88 and get ripped off. The sales staff will try to push their house brand frames and lenses so that they get more commission.

As for EMI , anti pc radiation etc ....it's just gimmick. Research have shown that these radiation are minimal and do not cause any harm to your eyes. Some optical shops just try to up sell using this EMI thing which doesn't have significant benefits. If this EMI thing is really useful, why major brands like Hoya, Carl Zeiss, Transistions and Essilor do not have these features in their lenses ?

For $189, You can get Hoya lens or carl zeiss lenses that is much better than the delux in house brand.

If you are facing computer for long hours, you will probably get computer vision syndrome (eyestrain) more than the harm that you will get from radiation from the screen.

Even though you had lasik done, there may still be slight degree in your eyes, maybe slight myopia and astigmatism. This may cause eye strain if not corrected.

You can consider getting a pair of lenses that have UV coatings, anti reflection coatings and perhaps a slight color tint for glare from the screen.

Just like to know I just did lasik and i have 6/6 vision. My job requires me to face at least 10 hours a day in front of the pc.

Is there any non degree lenses with properties or coating that really can shield against pc screen rays? Or is it marketing gimmicks?
