actually very very hard to tell, i once asked my seniots about this question and apart from carl zeiss laser mark and crizal mark.. almost all single vision lens, all are almost impossible to tell. new lenses maybe can guess tru coating colour. but guess only.

i tot hoya lens has the hoya mark as well? the letter H on the lens, i wonder if its the logo mark or scratch by machine?!? Both sides of lens has this mark that looks like the letter H. :s11:

Is 1.74 lens as heavy as 1.67 lens or abt the same?

i am aslo in the process to upgrade my more than 10yrs old DKNY

i like tag spec is damm comfort but abit too big for me
any smaller similar to tag comfort design ah?

this 999.9 and Japonism frrames is it small and thin?

or any small frame and light offcourse brands to recommends?

tag & 999.9 & japonism all not cheap, just frame alone alry at least 600+

the style of 999.9 dont look good on the street.

u want light offcourse brands you can try linkskin, eyelet or urband. Linkskin is just $100+ good value quality & comfort but not focused on branding.

Thanks, Xiaokaka.

Would there be a cert issued if I get the HVP lens? I know SFT will issue one but not sure if HVP will be the same or not.

Thanks again!

Should have. labs should able to issue certificates upon request.

after check few pages here i gogle around
999.9
interesting pecs

wonder is it as comfortable as tags
and found this

S-660T series - Four Nines New Collection 2011 Spring ??? - every comfort-

hmm it didnt say its what metal is made of
hmm alum? TI?
or SS?

other light frames i can think of will be Silhouette, Swissflex or Addidas.. of coz there sure to be alot more brands other den these 3.

Japonism and 999.9 and not really small. my brother just made 1. i can say about medium size bah. these 2 brands most basic start at about $500+ and average at $700-800.

all 999.9 metal parts are tithinum. screws are stainless steel. i heard from the supplier that 999.9 at least uses 3 tyes of tithinium, light weight Ti for front part. Extra harderned Ti for hinge. Flexible Ti for temples.

Hi all,

I'm going to enter army soon.

Can recommend me on the type of lens (or even frame) that I should be getting ?

Will army allow transition lens ?

Please advise.

Question is how much u willing to pay for the lenses?

Nikon seecoat 1.74 asp
Carl Zeiss 1.74 asp @ $560

Hoya 1.74 bi-asp @ $1000
Tokai 1.76 asp @ $540
Tokai 1.76 bi-asp @ $720.

Crizal and American optics only have 1.74 asp @ $480

so in ur case, nikon, zeiss or tokai are your best options. tokai 1.76 bi-asp being the thinnest. nobody benchmarked the weight so i cant comment. from my experiences, crizal are slightly heavier and thicker den nikon at same prescription ( sph -7.50 )

A black pair of acetate Tom Ford with Transition will definitely make your life in camp much happier, comfortable and less stressful. At least, they'll make you look at army life in a different light.

Must consider.
