eh.... if it's just fitting I think I can help? it took me a few times close to a week but I managed to stop the glasses from slipping. and you can't tell when they're on the face? come on let me have a try?

I was telling an airport guy, you have to open up the legs, if you don't they won't fit. besides in terms of looks opening up the legs or not won't make much of a diff if you don't overdo it.
I think the taka outlet is more on the luxurious side? so they carry a more traditional japanese titanium frames plus stuff like rodenstock or was it dunhill that I saw?

I think your taste isn't mainsteam. so if you're looking at the general outlets, they tend to carry stuff that sells well. namely safilo stuff (armani/gucci/boss) besides that they need to sign a contract to carry certain brands and if you want gucci you'll need to take other stuff as well.

same goes for luxotica stuff. want rayban? be prepared to order stock blonging to 3 other brands.

if your taste is in brands like tag heuer, mikli, theo, silhoutte namely anything that stands out and retail above $500 it's not going to be common.

how are you going to open the legs of icberlin wider when they are made of screwless hinges? There is not even a hinge mechanism for you to leverage yur plier. :s11: And its not just the temple fitting, the nosepads are hard to adjust to fit exactly too. All in all its my bad choice that i cant blame. Rodenstock frames sucks i buy once last year or so. I dont remember dunhill having specs, i only bought their leather belt & tat sucks too, the buckle become faulty in just less tahn a year of normal usage (wear & tear) and it costs me S$385. I will not patronise the brand again. And tagheuer, mikli, silhouette all dont suits my face, sadly.

lol I have my hands? a piece of cloth and a plier?
I've done it before.
i'm not 100% sure it works but I've done it for someone else before so if you have time I can help. you're going to throw them away anyway why not take a gamble?

lol all the brands you've mentioned are the ones I've know people swearing by.
a lot of ladies I knew swear by miklis and silhouette.
guys , tag heuers.

In SG only nanyang optical carries urband, the rest of shops v rare. Urband after discount, if not the horn edition, will cost $280. So your lens estimated cost $160.

it first appeared in nanyang 7 years back

then a local distributor started carrying it.
then that distributor realised, somehow nanyang is getting way more stuff then the distributors have lol

and news spreaded and shops catching wind of the story stopped selling or ordering urband, like why nanyang don't carry swissflex haha

where in SG got sell vintage frames with prescription lenses ah??

define vintage?

most people I've met when they say vintage usually refer to a Rayban/Paul Frank look

if you're just looking for old frames a lot of Chinatown shops carry frames older then 20 years old and they can definitely give you a deal

I think you meant airwear

seems slightly below retail price. $180
but really, what do you think about their service, worth this price?
no point to look around if the difference is 10-20 difference

bought the essilor 1.6 airwear in the end cause seesm more bang for buck as the 152 bucks includes the most premium crizal coating

while for Hoya they say i muz use dunno simi 1.6 pheonix lens whihc costs much much more n cant use the normal hoya 1.6 as apaprently it will crack... n even then the hoya coating is a normal one n not their most premium 1

most premium crizal coating? who told you that? did they tell you it can defeat the 5 enemies of clear vision as well? lol
and which other brands of coating is crizal better than?

if your power is -3.oo it's ok to use 1.6 for hoya. on urband.
have seen lesser power do 1.6 on urband but own risk.

airwear is polycarbonate lenses, shatterproof with 1 year warranty on breakage
phoenix lens is trivex material. also shatter proof but better in term of optical quality.

most premium as in among crizal standard, cricalEZ & crical UV they r offering the Crizal UV which is the the msot higher end of the 3

while for hoya they were not offering the higest coating they have in their brand range

I'm kinda skeptical of essilor I guess? I personally feel hvp is of the same standard as crizal advance coating if not tougher.

only nikon see coat is similar to SFT among essilor's products here.

anyway beyond techinical stuff anything else you'll hear from me is going to be anti essilor

market dominance of any one brand is bad for consumers .

besides...

Crizal Sapphire with UV???

lol 6 years ago when I was there there's an oakley counter inside taka with a wide range of oakley stuff. 3-4 floor. but not sure it they're still around.
otherwise give oakley.sg a call and ask who carries the model
but remember to check the lens
