heard from my cousin plaza sing has a shop that sold sunglasses from rayban quite cheaply around 3 years back? not sure about frames? but prices have increased last year.
though luxotica launched a cheaper range that's made in china around $100+
if you don't hiam the lens likely the china made frames plus lens all in less than $160?

:s13: ok plaza sing thx
normally those crizal lens will add hw much extra?

I think fatigue stems from the rigid structure and maybe weight of the frame? Or it could be part of getting old.

Any recommendation for models/brands accommodating to my needs? ic! berlin's Nufenen (M/L) & Satetsch (M/L) are what I have in mind now, but I would like to have a professional opinion to make a more informed choice.

I'm fond of swissflex but I think it's not suitable for a lot of people.

as for ic!berlin best to go down and put it on for around 5-10 mins to see if you like the feel. the legs are straight. not everyone like those.

Yes, everything is mostly hypothetical, but never hurts to hear the opinions from someone in the trade.

Will check Swissflex out, although the eyewear featured on the billboards don't really entice much.

Im wearing swissflex because I started wearing glasses as an adult(can't hold off anymore with the headaches)

first few pairs were too "heavy" for me. either the fitting or the weight. and their nosepads felt best for me. (I changed mine to the super big ones)
and my handling style is very soft so swissflex's material would last for a user like me.
look wise swissflex is suppose to look more casual especially the thick full plastic ones.

ic!berlin is a more modern manlier look, metalic so it adds to the "cold " feel
it's a very german feel. if you look as their designs. almost all the known german stuff have great structural design but very bland aesthetics
someone was trying to convince me once there was this great german frame that is very strongly built, no weldings all casted in one piece for the pins and all.
but it's really ugly and the ones I thought look ok were only the men's selection.

Is anyone here using the Carl Zeiss photofusion lens? Would like to hear abt your level of satisfaction... thanks..

I using for abt 7 mths.I feel that the lens are very prone to scratches.Do note that i am using only the micro fibre cloth to clean the lense only.(no t shirt/tissue paper to clean) . I have even done a one to one exchange on my lense liao but still the same problem after 1 mth.Lazy to exchange again ...:o

1st time bought carl zeiss and is a bit disappointed.I will try other brands after my current specs retired.:D

U should have taken Hoya instead they are known for their coating. Carl Zeiss is known for their lens clarity. If your lens get scorched so soon something ought to be wrong somewhere.

Have you worn transition lens before? Can u feel the difference? I m a first timer user and my progressive photofusion frame fit lens costs me almost $2k. It was highly recommended by optician for clarity. Today is my third day using it, can't really tell the difference..except That the lens has a grayish tint even indoors away from sun. I wonder over time it would b a good investment...

Any to recommend besides DUN?

How's the wear? How do you clean it?

What's your experience on the wear and quality of ic! berlin in general. And while comparing with ByWP, Urband, Markus T, Mykita, etc? Which brand/mechanism to go for?

Other than Dun, you can also consider 999.9, Japonism, BCPC etc.

I personally do not like ICBerlin fitting & also the hinge mechanism. I find the hinge not solid intact enough. And also I feel that icberlin do not cater to our Asian feature esp for people whose head are wide like mine. And another thing is the cost. I feel we are being chopped carrot for a piece of stainless steel.

Crizal UV coating does not prevent fogging?

i came out of taxi and the right side of my lenses fogged up and really took quite awhile for the fog to go off

The thing with this brand is that their silicone temple tips spoil easily and there is no where to change it, so even if the frame last long or not is a moot point, unless u got those designs that dun use the silicone ear socks. I checked with several shops carrying it and no one can provide the replacement tips or help with it

Not only are the temple tips made of silicone, the nosepads are also made of silicone, meaning they will also tarnish with use and needs to be replaced.

Hi blackmel if you are someone concerned abt the grip of a frame then swissflex is out becos it slips off very easily. I changed three different types of their nosepads and still it doesn't hold stable on the face so in the end I have to give it up.

Nose pads can be easily replaced anywhere but temple tips cannot. If i have the chance i wont buy dun eyewear again.

My next specs i will try hoya.:D I think there is really something wrong with the lenses also but i lazy to do exchange liao cox the first time i did the exchange, they took ard 2 weeks to do it.

But have to said that zeiss after sales service is not bad cox when i took my specs to the shop, they chu pattern don wanna change for me.Than i went home and send a email to carl zeiss telling them my problem and their singapore sales director personally call me and come down to take my specs and do a exchange for me.

They even ask for the name of my optical shop which refused to changed for me.Dunno wad happened after that cox i'am not interested and will not go bk to the shop anymore.:D guess branded names still care about their reputation.:s13:
