For 1.67... 600 degree... what's the price range for Zeiss? how about Nikon?

Are they fully aspherical (flat at the front)?... perhaps that's the trend... though it's ugly...

Nikon IIRC 580 plus is the rrp. not sure about zeiss though around 600-700. I'm using Nikon myself. When i changed back to my old lenses (other brands) of the same prescription i feel more foggy. Apparently I can literally fell the difference of the image. Although what i learnt is that the difference is too small for normal humans to differentiate.:look:

If he prescribe 1000 means your degree is 1000 la. How u Noe it's 1100. Ur prescription is given based on the best corrected line you see. And for cases like you. I have seen many. Most have best vision of less than 6/6. Around 6/9 to 6/7.5. To improve to 6/6 require 100 degree or more. So I will not prescribe that extra 100 degrees. Cos it will be too strong. Get it?

He told me himself it's 1100, but he only give 1000 cause he said lens maximum liao

Sorry not 1100 both eyes, my optician wrote down my prescription for me

My degree
:-10.50/-1.25 x160
-11.50/-1.75 x 165

My spectacles prescription:
:-10.00/-1.00 x 160
-10.75/-1,50 x 165

Like that can or not? Im very scared I got wrong prescription, my new glasses up close a bit giddy.

iNETeVO i though you using Seiko lens?? Did you try the Double Aspherical lens?

The cert is written as Seiko SSV 1.67 for my new lens on new frame... with 25deg increase on 1 eye... and 25increase for astigmatism for another eye. I guess it's Aspherical and not double Aspherical.

My current one is also Seiko 1.67 which I made around 3 years ago... now the coating has come off and scratched. It is almost flat but it does not look as flat as the new Seiko. I guess all lens nowadays are going flatter... thats the trend... so can't help it.... though it's really ugly.

As a lot of shops do not carry Seiko... and I do not want to go back to those opticians any more... so now thinking that I should change another brand...

Want something that has good clarity and minimum reflections on the surface.
Essilor and Hi-top are out of my choice because of poor clarity/anti reflection ability.

So Nikon 1.67 is around $300?
and Zeiss is around $600?

Is that the price range?

HAHA its not the trend. its just you. your prescription is high so u prefer a thinner lens. Lenses are manufactured with different curves. those flatter ones are just the design issue to make lenses thinner.:s12:

I am quoted by one shop of the following...

Carl Zeiss 1.67 lens $320

Infinity Staffan Preutz Design (the one with 2 tone color) $556

Is it expensive?

or is it reasonable?

Went to another optician who kindly helped me tested the difference in my 2 lens.

Old one:
S C A
R -5.75 -1.00 175
L -6.50 -1.50 170

New one:
S C A
R -6.00 -0.75 165
L -6.50 -1.50 165

He suggested that it may be the axis difference that cause my discomfort...

I wonder... how is the axis being tested? how come it can become different?

Thanks for the explanation for Axis!

And thanks for all the experts here who helped my inquire...

i guess your's is using trail frame + cross cylinder. Or even maybe they use the auto-reflector to take axis point :s13:

the clock dial test are mostly for high astigmatism.
