I believe in Hoya and Nikon more.
That said, my old glasses is Crizal Azio 1.67 Transistions 6.
Current glasses is Carl Zeiss 1.67 PhotoFusion.
and honestly i'm not very happy with them. I made Hoya and Nikon for my family members by the way.
My next lens would either be Hoya Sphercial 1.67 Transistions or Nikon Seecoat 1.67(their transistions very ex. and i'm saving up for a watch =X)
2 years?!?@# thats pretty short period of time.. u mean once the lens touches soap, the coating starts to peel off immediately & unnoticeably, bit by bit? Based on your calculation, 1% of my lens coating is gone alry.
Just to share my experience, i notice rings or lines of color reflections (slightly darker shaed than the coating color) on my lenses when im wearing them on my face & i tilt them against the light i can see these "rings" or "lines". Im not sure how many ple have actually notice before becos i suppose rarely ple have noticed. I myself only noticed it v recently. And its not against all backdrop of lighting you can notice such color "stains". Wonder what are they & whether caused by the manufacturing process or the chemicals in the soap?
I have been washing my lens using hand soap + water on a daily basis at least for a few years already. The lens condition are still good. Coating is still intact.
Thanks for the advice. Might try Hoya or Nikon for my next pair of lens for comparison. For the time being am quite happy with the Tokai 1.76 Bi-AS![]()
Are Porshe's frames fixed price? Paris Miki have them at 800+. Any where else I can get a better price?
it's not always 1 company do the best job. Sometimes Essilor does good jobs on their progressive lenses.
At times Nikon and Hoya too.
Personally, colouring wise Hoya is quite good. Sometimes colouring also has got to do with the Optician who ordered the lenses for u.
yur lens is hoya? then in tat case i can safely wash mine.
By the way, do you guys wash the nosepads of your specs as well? My fingers have difficulty reaching in between the small spacing of my nosepads to clean them properly. Wonder if ple normally clean nosepads with soap at all or just rinse with water.
Haha, sorry, what i meant was at least another 2 years.
There's no formula for u to count the number of days left..
For your rings and stains, its pretty hard 2 imagine. Try to include a picture or u can ask ur optician about the stains.
Thats true. High prices will reach a certain point where any higher price means overkill.
Coz average u will need to change lenses 1.5-2 years.
The Aspherical design. or u can go for double asphercial if u have the $.

wat coloring? do you mean tinted lenses or multi-coating color? personally i like the multi-coat color of hoya's sft lenses. Looks more premium & richer. Diff from other kinds of lens coat. Even nikon's seecoat having the same color as normal brands.
from wat u say, i think they could be polished marks or polishing is not thorough enough. The level of shine is v good enuf alry. The shine looks diff from my other pairs of lenses. Its sort of like crystalized kind of shine. Its just the marks that look like scratches if you look closely.
So do you mean tat machine polish will not be as thorough as manual, as such will produce such kind of marks? Manual polishing will not see this kind of marks? Or the same?
So these marks are actually not critical or harmful to the lenses?
This is especially true when your lenses are the expensive types. Like mine RX one pair of hoya 1.67 alry costs ard S$550. Hoya 1.74 for my type of lens will shoot up to S$1k which is just not worthwhile if you say tat lens need to change every 2yrs. Even if you consider cosmetic wise, the diff in thickness is max 1mm in my case (if im not wrong). My power close to -8 with axis 180 PD 70. Frame size usually try my best to choose ard 52-54. Size 55 will increase another 1mm to my lens thickness. 52-54 seems to be abt the same. Im toking about using the same lens comparison here & frame shape more to rect. Weight between 1.67 & 1.74 i cant really tell the difference. I guess the main bulk of the wight comes from the frame instead of lens.
for high astig like mine, double aspherical design makes alot of difference. Objects looks much more clearer sharper & 3D. NOt sure if aspherical designs makes any difference for wearers of low astig or no astig at all?
Ok firstly like to thanks guys here for keep recommending kwong shin, went there today to make my lens, first pair of proper lenses lol. The folks there are really nice and friendly and the lady who help me test my degree even advice me on my contact lens after some small chit chat, overall a very good experience. Saw the IC! Berlin dunno what model LOVE IT!!!! But due to budget constraint ($300) end up with a normal frame + Crizal Airwave @ $260. Sob sob sibeh sad cannot hoot the IC! Berlin........ Must save up for it next time!
