taking into account you are still a poly student (assuming you are not one of the rich kids), u can just take the cheaper lens rather than going optical 88 which sells frames which are too expensive to an extent i feel is exorbitant. Their normal frame can cost abt $300 alone even after discount & not any special brand or quality. If you need to change your glasses often, i think not necessary for you to get hoya nulux or nulux EP, UNLESS you are telling me that you are rich parents' kid then thats a different story.

No la. I take from my own saving de. Spectacle hut was the one who offered the lowest price. I be using it for at least 3-4years.. which is why i wanted to get a better one.

Plus i could used back my old frame. Just wondering, what's the different between all these lenses ...It's confusing .

any recommended good price and good opticians store? price different few hundred is ok considered the service and the professional skill, but if different until 500++ to 1k.it's crazy.

Hi all,

Can I enquire which nayang optical branch has the widest range of linkskin frame?

THank you

nanyang provides good sales service. If you keen on getting linkskin frames, just email to them & tell them so that they can arrange to bring down the latest range to the outlet nearest to your house for you to choose.

can still see & still good, y need to change?

change doesnt mean will be better. Old lens quality maybe even better than new.

Just made another pair of specs yesterday. Kind of bored with my current ic! Berlin specs. The new one is Hoya lens, first time trying it so hoping it will live up to expectation from most people here who highly recommend hoya

Anyone have experience with Rudy project Flip-up sunglasses or other alternative?
I think it would be a better alternative if one does not fancy transition.

IMO flip up doesnt looks nice or trendy... Rudy shades are pretty good in a way as most models have adjustable nose piece and temple, making it fit very well on the face, esp asian face. (currently using Oakley radar shades, but my left cheek touches the lens, but when i tried on Rudy, it fits better, lens dont touch my cheek) I am not sure if Rudy have any models that provides easy lens changing. Oakley new models - Radar Lock, Fast Jacket, Jaw Bone, provides easy lens changing.

1) From an optical shop in Thomson Plaza (actually he is a forummer here. Good service)
2) No significant wear and tear after wearing for a year
3) Washed it like my other specs. Rinse with tap daily. With mild hand soap once a while.
4) The grooves cut on the lens to fit into the frame tend to accumulate dirt inside. Which can only be washed when the specs is dismantled. Still dont have the guts to dismantle it myself. haha. can bring it back to the shop to have them do it for you though.
5) it is indeed a light-weight frame. Go for it if you managed to find one that suits your face. For me, I am getting a second pair cos I find this looks too "guai and down-to-earth" for my work. I'm not working in those shirt and pants environment.

Ok thanks =D guess i will take this lens then..

But what's the different between this and it's 1.67? Quite confuse by it, since it's only 0.07 different. And will the choice of frame(Half rim, rim-less) etc affect much? Or 1.6 will be good enough?

Also this lens is suitable for computer usage right? As my eyes often get tired and dry after doing work on the computer all day long causing headache =(.

Come to think of it, i had to sleep longer etc after i start to wear spec due to fatigue

wooohooo... that's really imbalance..

EDIT:

Check with some of the spectacle shop... The price are much lower than the RRP o.o
1.6 : 150
1.67 : 170
1.7 : 330

with the only exception being optical 88..quoting a price of 450 o.o. And the salesperson talk to me about Nulux, Nulux EP and Remark and even tell me there's different type of Nulux 1.6 SFT and asked me specially which 1 do i want? ... I am so confused by it...=(.

DOnt need think too much. u said u have low power.. just Hoya 1.6 SFT @ $250 good enough... anything higher is abit... excessive. I'd rather u spend your cash on other stuffs.

just ordered a custom pair of JINS frames with J!NS PC clear lens from ???????? ??????????????No.1 | JINS PC® for $109aud + another $20 or so for forward shipping fees. I have perfect eyesight but spend nearly half my time awake staring at some form of LCD/LED either for work or leisure and these could double up as both eyecare and a fashion accessory...can't wait till it arrives :D

im surprised there's no mention of JINS frames on this thread...
