share with edmwers my new specs. made it after my current one lasted for 4 years +

Urband

Good choice. Urband is a very lightweight frame. After your urband frame runs out in 4 years time, i suggest you to try this brand called Dun.

you are better than mine:
R - 775 / 250
L - 775 / 300

Hoya 1.7 $255 is a very good price you have bargained. If i were to get it, the least they will quote me is $500+

So, i always get hoya 1.67 Nulux EP instead ($550). Hoya 1.7 for me will be ard $650. Considering 1.67 & 1.7 only a slight thickness difference i opt for 1.67 for its better clarity. Hoya 1.74 would not be worthwhile for me cos its ard $1,000. Im waiting for 1.74 price to drop but quite unlikely unless more demand for it in the market or until hoya developes even higher index than 1.74. I might alry be an old man by then. :(

Wow, did I really get a bargain for my lenses? I'll call my optician to confirm if its a Hoya. Cause after you mentioned that you were quoted 500+ for the Hoya, I'm doubtful that mine are Hoyas now. All that I can confirm right now is that the lens are 1.7 and will be shipped from Japan. Hence I have to wait 10 days for its arrival. Zzzzz.

Yours most likely is Hoya. Only hoya has 1.7 lens & need to be shipped from japan 10 days because it has to be specially ordered if they dont have stocks in thailand or malaysia.

Wow I see. Weird they quoted your 1.7 Hoyas for 500+ though. Which shop did you go to? Or is it cos you didnt get any frames from them that is why they quoted you 500+?

Every shop would have quoted $550 for Hoya 1.67 & $650 for 1.7. Its the standard retail price. Its under the retail price of Hoya. YOu can ask your optician to show you the Hoya offcial price list and check with him which category or name your lenses are.

For your info, mine is Nulux EP.

Nope, iirc, transitions from the price chart my optician showed me will cost 580 for 1.67(the thinnest transitions will go according to my optician) before discount.

i was very tempted by porsche design, their titanium/carbon frame + hoya 1.6 non transitions costs about RM1700 ~ SGD$700.

so in the end went for Urband + transitions. design also very nice, like those curvy porsche design

Was quoted 700 for IC berlin frame + hoya lens. Is it reasonable?

my model is damien, bought many years ago at YES at suntec. that time the price of frame was around 600+, including lens was 800+.

super light and unique...more importantly, screwless :s13:
