hey bros, after using the search function on here and reading through so many posts, still did not find an answer, so I'll just ask it on here.

I'm looking to change my spectacle lens and I'm looking for a recommendation for the best lens, basis the following criteria :

- clear/clarity (as little coloured tint as possible)
- durability of coating
- smudge proof
- dust proof

I'm looking for a 1.67 hi-index lens, non-transitions type

So far gathered on here the following :
- crizal seems to have some negative feedback
- a lot of users of HOya on here
- nikon, zeiss seems to be more expensive than the rest

Any recommendations ??

Any shops in QUEENSWAY to recommend ?
Criteria :
- good gauging of focal point, measurements etc
- Must give authenticity certificate for LENSES

so far, only zeiss does that.

for all other brands, as long as it's a stock lens you get a generic card
you only get the details if it's not a stock lens
previously even progressives get a generic card.

U should have taken Hoya instead they are known for their coating. Carl Zeiss is known for their lens clarity. If your lens get scorched so soon something ought to be wrong somewhere.

erm? how about bargaining for the len price? generally speaking it's possible to bargain in most shops

nikon $328
zeiss $320
hoya $280 for basic asp 1.67? they have quite a few types of 1.67 at different prices higher and lower than $280
kodak$228 I think
ao teflon $200++ can't recall but this one's quite good but I heard they're going to kill off the brand or something

its the lens that can be expensive. frame still got choice from 50 - xxxx.

Zeiss lens is on the higher end (but very good optical quality)), those hoya/kodak/essilor are lower.

Im considering doing a pair of progressive lens, degree about 250-300, zeiss around 1.8, nikon should be 1.2k, essilor around 0.6k.

if coating smoothness is important, Nikon seecoat lenses are not bad if not restricted by price. though personally I tend to support Zeiss more for personal reasons .

if thickness is an issue try Japanese (hoya/Nikon/Seiko/tokai)lenses

double aspherical 1.67 for a full frame is darn thin

Thanks, Very good infor for Zeiss and HOya lens

Optique zone's pretty popular there. Heard they got this machine to do measurements. Not too sure. Gotta ask to find out more.

i think queensway has quite a huge range of specs... depending on the brand that you want, the prices vary... but i asked about rayban one of them quoted me 180 for the frame alone

Anyone used a rayban wayfarer matte? Thinking of getting one set but not sure if the matte coating will turn sticky after leaving it in the car/sun like Oakleys.

Never leave your glasses or sunglasses on the car. Will either degrade the material of the frame and some coating on lenses might even crack/melt. Your car is like an oven don't you know?

Bet you don't know there are fakes in Queensway too. Lol. A huge number of them actually are fakes.
