Life goes on - only hope these aliens are "friendly"

The late physicist Stephen Hawking warned that aliens may not be friendly and that humans should avoid trying to contact them:

  • Avoid contact
Hawking believed that humans should avoid trying to contact aliens and instead focus on other things. He thought that aliens might be more likely to exploit Earth's resources than share their technology.

  • Use human behavior as a warning
Hawking used human behavior as a sign that aliens may not be friendly. He thought that a message from an alien civilization could have a negative agenda.

  • Aliens could be dangerous
Hawking believed that advanced alien civilizations could become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize other planets. He also thought that alien pathogens could decimate the human population.
Some are friendly but some are not, especially those aggressive ones. Not only usa, other nations have cases of animals eg cows being kidnapped n killed by aliens, we humans can't do anything to them.

Those dead animal bodies they threw back to earth are obviously not killed by humans, cos blood all drained off, certain organs missing, wounds were sharp n clean, body mostly intact etc.

USA govt has been lying by saying these animals were killed by predators, which is totally not convincing.

I would be skeptical if aliens came with good intention

Just look at our own history with colonization and all - those folks came to conquer and take the resources from the natives - which native actually benefited from the so-called "liberation" by the Spanish, the English and Portuguese?

Which alien ever came with good intention? They come to colonise wan. Only 70% on some island believe the gaslighting that they are here to help.

We yet still trying to develop a space shuttle to travel to other planets but they already can travel through light years.

I think we need them more than they need us.

Resources - they come here seeking resources hahah

Hence, there is a possibility that they may trade technology for it

Of course, they can also just wipe us out or even enslave us to mine these resources for them given that they are so much more technologically advanced than we are

If they can travel to any planet so easily, why would they want to trade with us 🤔

I believe there's a few Earth Like Planets out there in the Universe far beyond reach by us but definitely not for them.

Not every planet has the same resources mah - Earth may have something they need

Just like how the Anunnaki came here to mine gold (according to the Sumerians)

The idea is based on finite resource theory where even as large as the universe, energy is constant. So the need for more energy will entail more competition.

At present, humans only know about ourselves (at least publicly) our observable range is also very limited. As a species we are very very young but is close to full Type 1, prolly in another 200-300 years or so.

Assuming we add the Great Filter theory in and we ARE the very 1st species in the entire universe to make it this far, i think it's quite scary that we are at the forefront of the unknown. If we are not, that's also quite scary as that means we are no longer the top in the pecking order.

There's still way more convoluted theories into different dimensional civilization etc.

At the end, while i would not live to see the result of any of these theories, what we do today with our tech, will reveal that answer to future generation.

Skeptical becuz we do not know each other, rather then a definite fact.

It's likely fear will cause one side to take action rather then logic. Imagine today we found a small size alien scout probe. The alien will now have to make a decision, should it fire and kill all of our scout probes as well before any data about the alien gets sent back?

Or risk doing nth in hope that we are benevolent? And if we are not, that could result in an extreme tech explosion and now they risk humans finding them and sending an armada.

Based on logic like this, it's nearly always beneficial to the 1st party to fire.

That is true but self preservation is always every species' prime objective

To err on caution, I think these aliens come with their own selfish agendas

Looking at how humans react (badly and violently) to the unknown - I won't be surprised that the first stone is thrown by us, so even if they come in peace, they may end up in pieces :(

I mean yeah, we are very immature in that sense. We cannot help trying to kill one another, much less another fearsome looking unknown race. Survival instincts at the end of the day but i will argue that's where wisdom comes in - Wisdom allow control of the fear within so one can get more knowledge and fear no longer control you.

But until we understand this as a ppl, we got a long way to go.
