Barenia ONLY comes from one tannery. Anw you missed their xmas sale which was 25% off. For the material, craftsmanship and bearing in mind your orders are made to order.. This is far cheaper than something comparable which is branded though. Although slightly steep, but well worth every penny.

Yeah that's why want to try a wallet from them and see.

There are actually two tanneries that produce the Barenia article. Haas and Degermann. I believe Hermes uses both.

Got the #90 Barenia which I have been eyeing for a few months already.

Almost wanted to pay the same amount of money to buy from a Chinese handmade artisan for a full (exterior and interior) Japan Shinki Cordovan Shell wallet though, until I saw the promo for Chestermox tonight. (If you think of the material used, this is superb value, but not sure how good is the quality/skill la, my main concern)

I never add on any personize options or upgrade and I prefer minimalism, so can't really answer your question.

Although the semi-lined is tempting but it's just make the whole wallet too expensive for me now.

Chester mox skills should be very reputable that's why I have no problem buying.

When you buy from Chester Mox you're paying for US wages and US rental thus the extra costs.

Overheads are generally massively lower in China.

Not sure about other artisans, but i've bought my compact bifold from Chestermox about 5 years ago. Back then they are a husband & wife team doing it from their own garage. Not sure if it's still the same now.

Didn't even take any extra care my wallet until 2 days ago, i decided to give it a clean with brushing and wipe with soft damp cloth

In regards to the workmanship and type of thread used, the threading still stand strong and not even a small sign of fraying can be spotted.

Now i'm searching for deer bone, i think i can further restore my wallet with it. Anyone have any idea ? or if there's any suggestion on how i can "cleanup" my wallet?
