Thanks for reply!

Oops, I didn't see if the watch would stop completely, cos I put it on after.. Maybe I should let it run down. Some people online say that Orient Star's real power reserve is more like 48 hours though.. Whereas the indicator is 40 hours. I always thought the indicator was connected to the mainspring though.

Yes, when I wind/move the power reserve meter will charge as well.

not sure about orient real power reserve, but I always thought there should still be some reserve left even the meter indicate empty. that's why I believe it is the "reserve" that is working (just how long can the reserve last)

Good to hear the power reserve meter will charge/move. don't think any wrong with your watch.

I free I try out my orient star and let you know.

Just a question - is it possible for a power reserve indicator to be at zero and the watch is still running?

Should be ok as mentioned by reiziki it should be ok. It should run for a while (no sure how long) when the power reserve indicator hits zero.

I'm letting mine run till it hits zero before checking how much longer it will run.

K I'll just let my Star take a rest first then.

Thanks slow_mo and reiziki for your replies. :)

if you can secure a near mint omega 2254.50 for each of those here who has expressed keen interest (say from one of your japan trips), I'm sure you'll instantly become their bff. ;)

haha it was chanced upon by luck. wasn't even looking.
was actually finding for mm300 and i got it.
the 2254 is a bonus

to be honest, if looking at 2.5k and below, sure can get. anything above is kinda overpriced at the current market

for local market, yes.

seems ang-mo market is higher... (eg wus ads...)

even at this prices, it's relatively affordable.

haha, you're also a lucky dude like me to chance upon the desirable and elusive 2254.50 ... goes to show that this watch with a cult following is 名不虚传, able to maintain its price in resale market now matching or sometimes even exceeding its retail price when it was still in production!
