In the end ordered sarx033 from seiya Japan. Was hesitating over the past few days. Then realized today price increase from USD 768 to USD 798 :/ went to big time to try out seiko brightz and sarbo33 which are " related ". Brightz is nice but too big IMO for a dress watch. Quite thick surprisingly

gxgx!!!!! am sure u will love ur new watch!

Sold off my ball fireman earlier today. Seiko blue monster last week. Time for a new watch to fill the void . Deciding between steinhart titanium or seiko sarx033 >_< diver vs dress. Steinhart arounf 800 plus sgd from gnomon. seiko need to order from Japan about 1k plus.

not considering the sarb035 - same 6r15 movement at half the price?

U hit the point already, u know no matter how much micro brand u bought u won't never appreciate it, u know what u want but u always stop yourself. U know, if u just keep some more money u can get your dream watch. Once u have one, u won't never spend so much on the micro brand, I'm not say the micro brand no good, I just say we respect all brand but not waste the money to spend.

If I tell u the IWC 7750 just 5k+, have u still think it's no worth it? Last time I also focus on the micro brand, even share with my gf, she never stop me to buy anything. She just question me... did u really love the brand and the watch? Have u really know what u really want? If u just becoz buy and buy, why not just save more for your dream watch?

After that I only read and feel how strong micro can hit, but never spend one in my collection, I rather save the money becoz when I spend one, my goal will be more far away... I'm not a rich, I just appreciate how strong watchmaker can be.

Let me try to explain to u about production line, in-house vs eta if the brand can make own movement, buy from supplier confirm expensive than in-house, u know why? No matter how cheap u get, your production cost already there. And why they still want to get eta? They are just want to have a low price on their model.

U mention eta model earn money than in-house, it's becoz they sell eta model more than in-house, if all ppl buy their in-house model, how they can earn from eta model? Like Rolex, fully in-house even the case material also done by in-house, if buy from suppliers is cheaper than own production, are they so stupid to done by own production just becoz they want to earn less money? Funny right

Last, all my comment it just focus on the movement, not the valuable... Like some one say 1s vs cosc have to pay another few k, if u think of the money then cosc is good enough to u, but if u think about how strong watchmaker can do, then u will appreciate that how difficult to be done the "comment" movement in so much precise, even better than some in-house.

Pardon my english.

Ok. TL:DR

One buy unique and iconic designs at value for money prices, ignoring the brand power and marketing. Perhaps keeping a varied collection of watches as fashion accessory.

The other one hell bent on buying good quality movements. Skip the micros, save for the 1 grail from "strong" watch maker. Perhaps waiting for the day to wear the 1 grail to haolian.

Both approaches, no right no wrong. Let's move on.

currently i'm contemplating on getting one of the these Orient M-Force, EL07002H or EL06001H. Any advice ?

another thing is that i cant decide on getting a blue dial to go with brown leather n white stitching or red dial to go with black leather n red stitching.

Here are photos of something similar:

blue dial to go with brown leather n white stitching

Blue dial with brown leather strap looks great. Anyone know where I can purchase a strap like this?

Where's the joy of spending money on a watch if one already has plans to sell it even before the purchase.... and to worry about the value when one wants to sell it

i understand that it's to each it's own, but am i the only one who view watch as a personal thing, and really just a matter of preference

Not a ardent collector, only own 3 watches now. Should have been 4 if i had not sold my PAM111 >10 years ago

Sold it mostly due to a friend who keep asking me to sell it to him every time we met. Partly also due to my disappointment , the screw thread holding the crown guard, crown gasket etc got corroded after i brought it along with me to a diving trip.. still remember my trip down to wheellock place isn't very pleasant.

If one wants a watch that'll hold & grow in monetary value, there's only 1 way that can get handsome return

Here's my proposal, FOC -
Go Thailand, ask the head of monks for 2 of his finger nails.

Approach Vacheron Constantin and commission them to design and craft 2 watch with Lunar Calendar, tide & moon function. Ask for enamel dial and pass them the fingernails. Get them to find a way to have the nails integrated onto the dial and that the dial should be auspiciously design as blessings for Longevity.

have the image of the current thai King engraved on to the caseback

Tell them you want to remain anonymous, and that they only have to record it as a birthday gift to the king & the name of the monk whose nail is embedded

When done, pass one of the watch to the monk for him to gift it to the King during the king's birthday.

Keep one for yourself. 8 years after the King & Monk pass to Heaven, put the watch up for auction. Get a few of your family members to bid for the watch separately until u reach a value 10 times more then your investment. By now you have already achieve 10 folds and the value is official :s12:

Keep the watch for your grand kids, value will have multiple fold as years pass

Meanwhile, you can wear the watch to start the patina process if you so desire

Not enough money to pull this off now? then start saving $10-$20 a day, you'll reach there sooner or later. Don't waste time on othersif monetary value is what you're gunning for.

Cant sleep at night so take out my grail to take a look. Been losing 1s/day. Is it better to lose seconds or to gain seconds, any difference? COSC standard is -4/+6 any reasons why its not -5/+5 instead?

Is Ball watch that Bad, compare to Longines, Oris, Tag, steinstar?

Nope, it's just a matter of preference and people are just voicing their personal opinions.

putting it side by side, only difference i see is the design
dEHLJ93l.jpg

Time telling wise, both also gives an average of around +3sec / day

Ball watches bad? They keep time just like those brands
Not into nomos or design of watches then go for them.
Many watches using ETA anyway.

Jean Richard, entry level zenith not your liking?
Maybe grey and online scare ppl off
