Just to clear the confusion. No one is infringing on any patents or copyrights.

Patents last about 17 years; when was the Rolex Submariner design patented? I'm guessing around 1953-1954....time is way up....no pun intended.

Besides, what really matters is their trademark which is something that is almost impossible to try to copy. They've already made a name for themselves and will leave a mark in history which possibly no one can erase.

Hi! I think we are one of the youngest in this thread. I'm only 20 and currently serving NS. Will only enrol in NTU next year. Regarding your qns, I would advice against a fashion watch as they do not have much horological history and are not focused on purely making watches. I would suggest a Seiko SKX007/009 or an Orient Mako/Ray instead. Whatever you choose is up to you in the end. Enjoy it!
