One thing I cannot understand, JW don't know the local market rate meh? Hard to believe they are not aware that their prices are set so "low" that a consumer can buy and be able to flip to a fellow consumer.

their retails hours are short, no point to hold on to stock. I believed the prices they take in is about the same as others but earning a lower margin.

with their retail hours, it may take a looooong time to sell if they selling market rate, lastly I think their core business is servicing ? ( I may be wrong) but their servicing business is la la koon wan ..

Do most second hand dealers operate on a comm basis? (as opposed to buying in and selling off) If so, it would make perfect sense. Fighting for that bit more money when the incremental value to them is limited does not make sense.

Just like how you can be sure that most property agents will not get the best price for you if you want to let go of your property fast.

that is another scheme which is consignment, I mean this method if only not urgent sales ...but I think will be much better to sell it yourself if box and all papers are available.

consignment may only be better for watches of very high value or with no box and paper (as buyers confidence will come from shop status)

Yar, if you go by middleman will lose some amount one la.

But truth be told, sometimes when I deal on Carousell also want to tear my hair out. Can be easier to deal with proper shop even if don't get as much back.
