At that price, usually only Seiko can deliver good lume. There's also limitation owing to the size of the markers and hands.

Hehe after owning this, the real thing has popped up in my head more times than I can imagine. And regarding the book, yes. I much prefer reading and holding a physical book as opposed to a digital one.

The thing holding me back on the real deal is the size and thickness.

you MUST drop by blancpain's boutique and molest it in the metal to feel and know how silky smooth the blancpain FF is: it's tactile heaven from its all polished case to its sapphire crystal to its sapphire lumed bezel! but because it's polished all over, it's a potential scratch magnet. but DAMN sexy and DAMN desirable!!!

seiko divers have the brightest and longest lasting lume.

while it's easy to jump to the conclusion that seiko's lumibrite >> superluminova, i feel watch lume is a function of 2 other factors, apart from the material itself:

1. size of the lume plot
2. thickness/layers of lume applied

my omega 2254.50 has very thick layers of lume until it bulges up from the hour markers, like the seiko turtle re-issue. as a result, it stores a huge amount of light energy when exposed and can rival the seiko monster. i'm sure of this as i own both.

the kickstarter GL could do with larger lume plots with thicker 3,6,9,12 numerals, bolder hour makers, and sword hands to maximise the lume. same for the bezel as well.

very tempting, but i will just have to resist. unfortunately, there's only so much wrist time in the real world.

The power reserve hand got stuck, under warranty. I topped up $400 for polishing.

A bit regret... watch feels a bit alien without the familiar wear and tear.

what was done and what's the damage?

do they extend the watch warranty post service?

AP offers 5 yr warranty for new pieces from AD right?

for servicing done after warranty expires, do they offer any post-servicing warranty as well and for how long?
