Too bad my Sub is also my beater when I went drinking, which might explain why I was looking into Steinhart watches. I wouldn't mind an epic story to explain dents and scratches on my Sub if I ever do get into a drunken adventure though!

wa use sub as beater! i dont think my heart can handle if my future sub get scratch XD. even if i scratch a steinhart i also will feel pain lol

Well maybe i should not say "use first" i will wear it even when i get my sub to use as beater when i go drinking or clubbing.

im dont care if generally people dont know about steinhart cause they not into watches what im afraid of is rolex worshippers.

Personal opinion: Ask yourself if you are bothered (not others, just you) by the fact that the Ocean One is a Sub homage. If not, and you like the Ocean One, by all means hoot away.

As many others have said, wear watches for your own enjoyment, not to pander to other people's expectations and opinions. Even if you wear a multi-million dollar watch, there are countless people who will be mocking you with "omg I can't believe this pos fugly watch costs this much!!"

As long as it's not fake and you like it, any watch is a good buy...

...unless it's a DW. ;)

It's hasn't been easy for me, still learning to live with it daily. :s13:

As many would say, it is inevitable for watches to get scratches, unless you don't wear and put in safe; it is part of the process of being a watch owner.

Besides, there are more important things in life to worry about than scratches.

First of all, congratulations on ORD!

I was just looking at Steinhart's collection 5 minutes ago, and that said, I do have a Submariner (114060) which I bought less than a month ago. Personally, I would never laugh at a person based on his or her watch, even if it is a replica.

I really like the look of the Steinhart Ocean 1 Vintage Red and Ocean Vintage Military, as they do not have the cyclops. Perhaps a bro here would be able to hook you up with a good deal?

All the best and I look forward to seeing the day you post wrist shots with your Submariner!

You really jin good and nice.

If it's me I sure laugh if I know someone is wearing a replica :s13:

That's right, all you Nomos aka DW-replica wearers!

If you are walking on the street, and you saw a pristine DW watch with box on the floor, will you pick it up? :s13:

Yes I would. And proceed to dump it in the nearest dustbin, cos last time 好公民 taught me not to leave rubbish lying around. :o

And I'd be doing the owner a favour if he/she came back looking for it. :D

I think... If replica and know, and admit it, still ok la.

Quite sad if replica and know and don't admit it.

Even more sad if replica and don't know and pay Rolex price. :s22:

I recall a discussion some time ago about classic chronographs. The el primero and speedy if I remember correctly. Read an expert's thoughts about these 2 time pieces.

"The relative advantages and disadvantages of a fast beat movement have been debated for as long as such movements have existed. There is no possibility for argument over superior time-keeping. All other things being equal, an oscillator with a higher frequency is more stable — that is the reason quartz watches out-perform mechanical watches.

However, all things are virtually never equal. A slow-beat watch that is properly adjusted to temperature, isochronism, and positions will out-perform a faster beat watch every time. 36,000 vph has a theoretical advantage but that advantage is minimal enough that it can be drowned out by other effects, and in and of itself is not an indication of a chronometrically superior timepiece."
