wa nice ocw-s100

durable or not the scratch resistant coating?

this is like the only modestly sized oceanus, the rest are huge
No desk diver marks, but it's constantly in rotation.

I have a bit of a ding from an accident with my house gate though, but I don't think steel would have escaped harm either. So I would say that the coating helps with light day to day stuff, but nothing too heavy.

hmm.. any idea how much can 2nd hand seikos typically fetch?

not a seiko expert, just a watch noob. but my casual observation is... not a lot cos seiko produced so many of them till the market is flooded.

in my limited opinion, scarcity + herd mentality are the main drivers in 2nd hand watch appreciation. limited run models and those that herd mentality declare to be popular have the edge. like say the 4s15 28,800vph high beat windable and hackable seiko alpinist line is worth more than its retail price. another eg is of course the early seiko divers.

seiko expert bros please chime in. :)

If you mean buying new and then selling after that - usually lose money, but with the old combos, you can usually break even or earn a teeny weeny bit.

Unfortunately, Shopback now gives erratic cashback, Lazada vouchers no longer as strong as before (with lower caps)... So now I would say if you can break even you are pretty damn lucky.

Been trying to find a casual watch for a long time now but i can never find something that looks right. I blame it on my skinny wrists coupled with large hands :( Anyone has any advice/reccomendations?

Sent from Samsung SM-N920I using GAGT

bro, fret not!

you're actually fortunate cos rolex has plenty of 36mm sized datejusts and oyster perpetuals which will be perfect.

if rolex is not your thing (yet), have a look at the 36mm tudor heritage black bay 36.

plenty of pre-owned classic / vintage watches are more reasonably sized, so you can have a look there too.

relatively newer watches also have "mid-size" range (36mm) for the leaner wrists.

heck even the skx007 has a mid sized brother, the skx 013.

so you're well-covered, bro! :D

Hahaha... honestly I can't seemed to appreciate Tag Heuer..

Initially I took a liking on Tudor Heritage Black Bay Bronze. Went over to THG and I tried a 42mm, 1mm smaller than the Bronze, and it felt really weird on my hand..

I think I'll still stick to my Cocktail for now :o

bro cyberet, if you like bauhaus-inspired design (form follows function), check out nomos and junghans max bill range. :)

haha, those that I think can recover some $ are the ones I like.

alpinist and snowflake is nice, and appealed to me in the beginning. however after awhile, I wanted something different.

so last week, I went looking at some "russian" watches :s13:

Will recommend GS Snowflake for a white dial but it doesn't have a seconds sub dial.
