Yes, they did. They have announced that GS is not part under Seiko which is why SEIKO has be removed. Is part of their marketing purpose.

But personally I dont like the new logo.

Taking away the big wording SEIKO and keeping only "GS Grand Seiko" does make the watch dial less cluttered and sporting a cleaner look, which could probably pave the way for a Grand Seiko Tourbillon?!

Since Seiko already achieved that feat with credor last year

Personally... i feel that removing the big word SEIKO completely and pushing Grand Seiko to a more prominent position on the watch dial will do more good than harm, in terms of the general brand awareness. Because most people who own GS are really watch lovers and they know what they are investing in but with the SEIKO wording, it doesn't appeal to the mainstream public.

I always get rejection from my wife to pull the trigger on a SEIKO Grand Seiko watch.

Her exact reaction: "You siao ah! 4/5K on a Seiko!!! Might as well put the money with me..."

Not sure about others here but I feel that with the big word SEIKO now gone starting from their current new collections. I may get lesser resistance from my wife if I wanna pull the trigger on GS (less SEIKO)

My thoughts are similar, in that the aim is to establish Grand Seiko as a distinct brand under the Seiko company, not just as an offshoot of the Seiko line (f.e.x Presage, Prospex). This then leaves the way for more distinct pricing - possibly allowing GS to reach Credor prices since they're technically not within the same hierarchy.

Never thought I would get one.
Roman numerals, enamel dial, low entry price.....almost the perfect dress watch. Can't bear to pay 30k for a swiss dress watch - would like some complications for that kind of price.

Just some things I don't like. The date window outline, and the thickness of it. And.....would still like a rose gold dress watch.

guys. i recently got a rolex explorer 114270. 10/10 exterior. i asked the seller how's time keeping. he says the time keeping is good. anyway..it's bad when i took it home. it's +20s per day.

i went to top hour in hope to regulate the timing. mr lim oiled it. now it's +10s per day. i think it's in need of an overhaul.

rsc quoted $920. 5 weeks downtime. there's no service record for my watch.

should i go ahead with rsc? the watch has never been serviced before. btw it's a 2005 watch. or...3rd party can do an equally good job at a fraction (300-500) of the price? +2/-2 sec per day standard?

which is a better option for me?
