u1 lume is really subpar, i think they can do better.

or maybe the u1 i got was from 2006 and they improved over the years.

still want my u1 SE :( probably my first DLC watch

I believe The rules today are formed based on previous happenings in this forums which is surely no one's fault today. But I think this has not stop the various communities within the F&G section, not just the watch thread, from their discussions.

On another hand, if you are annoyed by this particular forum rule, bring your case to the Administrator and the Senior Moderators directly by sending them a PM or send a post in the EDMW mod & admin thread.

Yup agreed on the lousy lume. Guess they don emohasize so much on the lume. A proper dive watch must have v strong and long lasting lume to see clearly under water.

Calm down. Nothing went out of hand. Just adhering to forum decorum only.

GX wants to help with MO (not initiated by him), no malicious intent - not wrong. Yes it's always nice to see friends help each other. Just that the medium is not right, that's why those "lifeless" sub forums exist. Same as everyone not reading the "sticky"

But what happened if something did go wrong, hypothetically - would it then be right to point fingers at the one starting the MO? Prevention is more practical

Henabi just pointing out some rules, which are legitimate. Other rules not in "handbook" we also help to enforce. (Example) If we see replica watches posted, don't we all chip in to let them know they are not welcomed here?

I agree to what you mentioned. In fact I was the one that suggested asking gx84 to do the forum a favor and ask if we are able to get a better deal with Elshan.

In the end I don't find gx84 breaking any forum rules in this incident mainly because he isn't profiting directly from it. Unless he himself is marketing his own line of products, then yes I will say the mo rule applies. To my oversight, I should use my words carefully from now on because 'MO' seems to have only one meaning in this forum. My apologies to the mods here for causing the confusion.

We are all just watch enthusiasts here, so why don't we break the bickering and just enjoy our watches a little more.

Agreed.

In addition, we can all follow the rules reasonably ie what GX has done (siggy the MO) and/or raise awareness here and starting the thread in the MO section.

Mods don't enjoy policing as we are just glorified saikang warriors who get a free deluxe account lol. We just want help everyone feel like the rules apply to everyone equally as much as possible.

I'm quite sure no one gets penalised for these kinda MOs since the context is clearly about caring and sharing, not primarily advertising nor profit-making.

Hope no hard feelings ok. The folks here are awesome and the mods rarely step in cos of that
