low prices doesn't reflect the quality and movement put into it.
arguably the best value watches at the moment.
citizen recently acquired the brand recently, so I would anticipate that prices will eventually firm up when distribution deals and stocks are settled.

some models are going at retailers in SG at -40% off at the moment. check out the independent watch shops or those online e.g. carousell.

I am not insinuating low prices = poor quality
Just saying lack of demand causing AD to off load stocks to grey

Will prices stay firm in the coming years that's remains to be seen
Poor demand no way prices firm up, even Pam prices at AD start to fall.

agree, just adding on to your point.

i have both the alpina and FC - both bought on discounts but i have been impressed by the value. they look great from afar and under a loupe.

the watch business is a fickle one for sure...

great value with the steep discount ~65%.
much like U, I also own both brands.

side note: their screws chemically blue not heated blue.

Think FC brand badly managed in singapore

Pricing too high end up all go grey

Hope gnomon eventually manage them like alphina and set price at sane but reflective range.

If not really a brand wasted by bad pricing and mkting

pricing too high not set by AD, but set by brand.
discount allowed can be controlled by brand or distributor.
marketing usually push by brand, maybe little from distributor iirc

FC and Alpina all under Citizen group today.
Alpina was under FC.

also a question of oversupply and overselling to retailers in my assessment.
perhaps with the greater financial might of citizen, the new owner, will allow them to reduce supply by holding stock back for now.

FC doesn't get enough credit as a super successful microbrand that has grown into one a notable and significant player on the global watch scene. their achievements include:
- having their own movements and factories
- acquiring a historic swiss brand and reviving it (Alpina)
- innovations like hybrid smart watches, smart straps

I'd challenge all watch collectors and WIS to suspend belief, ignore the brand, and assess FC and Alpina watches on their quality and design objectively. The low prices now actually means excellent value, for anyone who can appreciate quality finishing and movement more than branding.

A challenge no doubt particularly for Asians who tend to be swayed by big brands and ST fads and herd mentality.

@tt01 my girl likes thing simple eh. Nothing too blingy hahaha. Having said that, she showed me an open heart Hamilton that she's interested in...

@indigo I think too big for her. She wants to have it between 36-38mm

Sent from Kong Island using GAGT
My 2 cents... don't assume girls like what guys like. Their taste can be very different. :D Best if you just bring her to a few watch shops and look around.

.

Retailers over buying or distributor forcing AD to buy so many to be a AD.
Oversell sound like No buyer can still sell by truckload lol
Carrot AD?
