hey guys, it's me again.

This time it's more complex... shopping at MBS brings more headaches than I'd care to admit. My most recent headache is encapsulated in the few photos below, although I was (still am!) looking for a sports watch. Have no idea how well the VC (both of them) turned up!

This VC Traditionalle small seconds vs the 5296G hmm. This VC definitely feels more right than the PP.

The new 15450 in blue! This is the one that I'm most tempted to get at the moment, I think.

For reference, my favorite diver watch.

What do you guys think?

I like the 37mm VC.

I also will vote AP but maybe also consider 15400 or 15202?

Among all these watch i think AP wins. In my book the trinity ranking is PP-AP-VC. Having said that the first trinity i tried was the vc patrimony. Really liked it at the time.

The overseas looks good on ur wrist the though :s13:

Good morning, bro atypicalsingaporean.

certainly nothing typical about your choice of watches, though.=:p

it depends on several factors, one of which is "will you intend to sell/trade-in later?" certain brands have better retention value. at the higher end of the price spectrum, the pool of interested and viable buyers shrinks, and with the exception of selected pieces like the PP 5711, it takes longer to liquidate them, or you may have to absorb a higher discount.

if you intend to keep, then the above is moot.

ultimately, buy what makes you happy and smile each time you look at your watch. after all, our taste are personal.

cheers and have a good weekend everyone! :D

I think so too!

Luckily for me, the small seconds at the 9 o'clock position is a deal breaker. So one down! If they do the small seconds like the Traditionnelle, then all bets are off.

The blue is mesmerizing under the lights though.

Well, it's a typical singaporean most of the time, but occasionally it's atypical singaporean. :D

Resale value is not at the top of my mind now, I'd rather take a long time to think over the watch, to decide if it's lust or true love hahahah.

(I must admit, that the resale consideration comes into play when I'm looking at exotic brands, so at this PP/VC/AP level I'm not really bothered)

https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/v...es-de-vache-1955-limited-edition-for-hodinkee

This super limited watch (36 pieces) was sold exclusively online and sold out in minutes. Lots of ppl missed out on the sale and there were ppl flipping the watch immdiately. If it was not hodinkee edition it should have been a application piece or boutique special edition.

I heard big boutiques(AD i mean) and collectors were really angry.

Care to share more details?

What saga

Thats really high for a reduced size overseas. As ex as full size ap ro. :(

Thats why i say overseas price over the top :s16:
That's what I feel too. Gotta admit that the VC Overseas is more dressy than the RO, but asking for the same amount of money as the WG Traditionelle is... impressive, to say the least.
